here it goes 1 month will my wedding and disney moon to just over check every thing i look up both my flights.. my flight is GONE I look all of the flights for saturday -monday are 2 or more stops with lots of air plane time arriving only after 5 pm.. my original was leaving saturday at 10 am arrivin 2 nonstop I call and they tell me it works better for air tran to have more stops i now PANIC waiting to leave until TUES takes away 4 days of my honeymoon time NO WAY so the next option cancel?? they tell me i can not cancel so i tell them i have a wedding and i need to be there at a certain time i know i fibbed but this is my disneymoon were talking about after 4 managers etc they refund my money now what am i gunna do to fine another flight ? southwest has a 750 arrive 920 am flight now i had to pay 189.00 more because its so close an extra 20 for early bird check in ( i cant sit alone or be in a plane for a long time) Its some thing im tying to cope with ha ha . Also had to call the rent a car and change pick up time for my car and now i was eating an narcooses at 8 pm and now im arriving at 10 am hmmm should i add on an extra park day? or should i leave it.. im way upset air tran did this to me but at least it was solved just wanted to share!

Please tell me this does not happen with Southwest Airlines? I am considering them for our trip as they are the only airlines that offer Non-Stop flights to Orlando from STL. The flight only takes 2 hours and I am really looking forward to that flight in particular! I sure hope not.

I am convinced that Airtran does this a lot. Every time I book a non-stop to Orlando it gets changed to a stop in Atlanta and they always notify too late to find another flight for a reasonable price. No apology or compensation for adding 4-6 hours to the trip of course.

AirTran is pulling out of our local airport in a few months due to the merger so it will not matter to me anymore. :shrug:

yes my one of my detours was atlanta but im happy i switched even though i had to pay more im happy its ok now because i was stressedd!!

Jet Blue is doing this to me right now - I have 21 people flying down on a group reservation to catch the cruise and they've drastically changed the flight 2x so far!! They offered a refund but at less than 6 weeks where am I going to find a way to get 21 people to MCO that day?!? They have no other available/timely flights. These airlines all have a take it or leave it policy and should not be allowed to sell flights so far in advance when they can't figure out their schedule between themselves and the airports within a reasonable +/- margin for change (no more than an hour in my opinion!!). Jet Blue isn't even that inexpensive/competitive anymore.

this will happen but im sorry it happened to you on your fibbed wedding and actual disneymoone thing but this will happen from time to time if you fly allot and people who dont fly allot dont know how often that it happens but it will happen time from time and there is not much you can do about it but try to find a new flight and see about a refund and let the airline that did it to you know what you are going through which it looks like you did that which is good, but not necessarily the lying about the wedding but enjoy your disneymoone and all the memories you may make and not let the airline thing get you down because it happens from time to time which allot of people dont understand or know about.

Flying SW this Thursday ... non stop flight ... praying for no cancellations

SWA does not cancel flights. The only time you would run into problems is if there is a mechanical failure with the plane or the flight crew got ill.

The one time I had a Airtran flight set-up out of Stewart in Newburgh, NY they cancelled all flights out of the airport. The problem is that I was not notified by Airtran. I heard from a friend that Airtran had stopped service @ Newburgh. With my flight only about 6 weeks away I called and asked the customer service rep to verify my flight and times. She told me that everything was on schedule. I then asked her That I heard they stopped service into the airport, then she hesitated and put me on hold for about 10 minutes. When she came back to the phone she apologized and said she moved my flight to White Plains, NY. I said that was not possible for me since it would be another hour drive. She insisted that I take the flight or I would loose my money. It took me have to talk to a manager to finally get my money refunded! That was our one and only tangle with Airtran and it was not pleasant at all. I would have to hope that when Southwest finally gets into the drivers seat for Airtran, these issues will stop. We have never had any issues with Southwest.

It is not really necessary to pay the extra money for Early Bird check-in. As long as you have a computer and you check-in close to the 24 hour mark, you will be in groujp "A" or "B". For 2 people to sit together that should not be an issue. Then for your return you can just go to the concierge at the front desk of your resort near the 24 hour mark prior to your return flight. They will do your flight check-in and print your boarding passes.

At least with Southwest, you can load up on your souveniers since your first 2 checked bags are free.
