What's summer reading? Well here's a little taste. . .

English IV (H): Read Othello, keeping a journal as you read. Then read Brave New World answering questions with journal entries. (Oh, and this is after you do Phase One, which was to read and do TONS of work on Lord of the Flies and turn that in at the end of June)

AP French: Read and do summaries for three articles written in French. Do two (or was it three) picture sequences in French.

AP Biology: Loads and Loads of work from the book. This includes reading, Take Home Tests (you learn to dread them) and other questions. Covers about ten chapters worth.

Chemistry I (H): Test the first day of school!!!!!! Hello! A test the first day of school on stuff she hasn't taught us?!?! Giving us the information before school let's out is NOT TEACHING. Sorry, I get emotional about that sort of thing.

Yep, that about sums up what i have to do, and again, I haven't really even started. Talk about your procrastinators. . .

I'm not really into all the academic stuff like math, science, ect..... I like my art, my writing and my computers :) that's what I do. I have always sucked at everything else.

i want to see the Lord Of The Rings movies and then MAYBE I'll try to read the book. I just couldn't get past all the hobbit talk. It was confusing. And I kept trying to fit Elijah Wood into there somewhere haha

I took three honors classes this year. Just to let you know this is at a private school. My favorite though was Honors World History, the teacher knew practically everything about history.

I'm glad someone enjoyed their World History class. I took World History (they didn't offer honors) this part year, and I absolutely hated my teacher. He's one of those teachers who don't teach. The ones who really really bother me. I'd better stop before I get all worked up

I Loved the Harry Potter series. I've just started reading them to my daughter and we're on the second book right now. I wanted her to read it (or me read it to her) before the movie comes out. When I first read the series I was like turbogames, I read them all very quickly. The last book came out while we were staying in a hotel (with no pool or anything around) so I would stay up half the night reading it.

While that's true, and I agree with you, history bothers me, because I'm like, it's in the past, so who cares, let's live in the here and now, please.

I tend to dwell on the past....and hey as the saying goes "If you don't learn from the past, you are doomed to repeat it"

Actually history did change about two week ago. They government came out and said that Bell didnt invent the telephone. It was some guy named Mueche, I think, and he invented it about 5 yaers before Bell but Mueche didnt have the $250 to pay the patent office so he wasnt credited with the invention, till now

Well we have to have one unit of fine arts to graduate, and I kinda veered around it. Instead of taking Art I which is a year long course, I took Art Appreciation, which is a semester course, and Film Criticism (which for some reason counted as a fine arts).

Film Crit was in my opinion, the best class ever created. It rocked, watching old movies, and getting a grade for it--easiest A I ever made.

Interesting story. But again, things like that just don't get me excited, maybe that's why it's in school. . .

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

You may not heed those words now....but someday you'll be looking at specials on the WTC attacks, and tell your grandkids about how important that is :)

Food for thought.

I'm not even going to get started on the attacks--trust me, not a subject you want to start with me

And about the art classes, some of us are more talented than others :animwink: Congrats on that independent study thing though.

Exactly my point.....it isn't something easily discussed or forgotten.
