I have been wondering something for a while now. I attended the opening day events of the 100 years of magic celebration at WDW. I was there for 5 days and saw all the new parades and returned frequently the first few weeks. Then in Dec. Some parts of the music to Share a Dream Come True were removed from the parade. I just visited yesterday and they cut alot of the soundtrack from the share a dream come true parade and stars and their motor cars parade. Does anyone know why they did this??????????:veryconfu

they cut a lot of MK because guests wanted more one-on-one character interaction, and the speeches detracted from that.

they cut the MGM music for 2 reasons:
1-it didn't match some units of the parade as well as other (aladdin music playing during the Toy Story Unit, or Star Wars playing during Playhouse Disney)

2-IT WAS LONG. Due to the length of the loop, they were having trouble approving CM's to perform in it because, it's length made a simple dance combination into a long confusing one.

thanks for the info

Hey thanks for the info

I understand the reasoning behind the MGM situation but......

I feel that they took out the important part to the Share a dream come true parade.. basicly the whole meaning to the parade

when you imagine time becomes timeless,
when you imagine and you believe
fantasy dances and hopes are revield\
and the dreams that you dream become real

Thanks again

I totally agree with you!!!
They took the best part of Share a Dream Come True!
However, it is still a great, moving parade, isn't it? I love it anyway!!!

PS: They didn't cut Julie Andrews speech, did they? I will hang myself if they do!

Luckily No, Julie Andrews is still there.

I agree that the cut the wrong part of the parade. They needed to leave the characters talking and the complete Tinkerbell Sequence. If they felt they needed to cut something, they shoudl tighten up thje reall awfaul, kid participcation part.

It just doens't work as well in this parade as it did with Remember the Magic.

That's it! Actually, I don't like that character part very much. I think they should do something different, something more active, I think it is tooooooo slow... Well, it is good to know that Julie Andrews is still there! Did they cut the Tinkerbell sequence? I can't believe it! I heard they cut Pinocchio, too. I am sad about that...

You almost had to see what they did, they still have Peter release Tink, but the whole thing has been so abreviated it just makes no sence.

That really is a pity, specially for those of us who weren't able to be there at the beginning. I do hope Disney would restore it all, or at least rearrange it so these moving parts would be back, but we all know it just doesn't work that way at all. Isn't it funny how they always listen to Guests' complaints about the wrong thing?

We had purchased the "'Music in the Streets" CD before we visited WDW in January '02 and while viewing the parades, noticed the edits. I too, would dump the interactive parts, in favor of the complete soundtrack for the "Share a Dream Come True" parade, but would leave the Studios parade alone. Before viewing that one, I couldn't figure out how they were going to have the correct music up for each car as it went by. The edited version works fine for me.
