My guess is that after the Fantasyland Expansion is finally completed, the next major update to Magic Kingdom will be finally replacing/reinventing Tomorrowland. Stitch's Escape was a half-baked redo, Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor never seems especially crowded, and after today there's bound to be pressure to do something about the speedway. Plus they could expand if necessary into the parking lot behind Carousel of Progress.

Even then, I still think DHS is up for some expansion work after Fantasyland, so we won't see a major improvement to MK for years to come.

If there's not going to be a Beastly Kingdom why not just add Dragon Tower to FLE. Too awesome of an idea for nothing to come of it.

I doubt they would put anything in this space soon. Once they see how the new fantasyland and PH turns out, then I'm sure they will start considering what New thing to do next.

They are probly going to use this space eventually for something they choose to build in the future or they might be saving it to compete with the next new Universal thing....They will need something to pull guests over to disney incase universal pulls a fast one and opens up something that will be big and popular so its always good to have some extra space here and there.
