After Multiple Park Visits-Is The Magic Still There?

The Magic is what you make of it. I enjoy going every time with a different plan of action each trip. Last trip was F&G Festival and SWW Weekend. Next trip will be Osborne Lights, MVMCP, and F&W Festival. Each park will have its ups and downs. DHS and Epcot are currently "down" with new anticipation in DHS for the upcoming SW and TS lands. Go and enjoy anyway. It's just as much as what you put in to it as what you get out of it.

I've been going for over three decades and have spent at least 350 days at a park. No, it doesn't really get old.
Life is what you make of it according to the things that you enjoy.

Been going every year since 1984. Every year there are new things to see and do and the old things are never boring. I think if we lived closer we'd go much more often, even if it was just to go into Epcot and ride Spaceship Earth!

I go to WDW every few months. While I don't get OH MY GOD DISNEY WORLD EXCITED!!!!!!! any more, I still have a blast each time and really enjoy myself. Besides, being more relaxed is nice, too.

Also, I still get OH MY GOD EXCITED for Disneyland. Just came back from there and it's worth it. :)

The magic and feeling of being at home is always there with repeat visits to both WDW and DL. To be honest I went to Disneyland in Paris earlier this year and while it was fun, it seemed to lack a little magic to me. So I was worried maybe Disney was losing its magical touch on me but I just got back from Disneyland in California and as so as I walked into my first Disney place (it was Trader Sams) I felt like I was home.

I don't live close to Disney World. I live in Syracuse, NY. However, whenever I do go to Disney, the magic's still there for me. I always get very excited when I go.

I'm 21 now and have been going to the parks several times a year since I was born. I also spent eight months on the Disney College Program working at Disney (and therefore going to the parks as a guest all the time as well). I fall more and more in love with the parks and the Walt Disney Company as a whole all the time. I still cry at the first sight of the castle each trip and cry even more when I drive out the exit gates on the way home. The magic has definitely intensified for me, not lessened.

As a 20 year old male, I'm probably the last demographic that would "usually" be excited for Disney, but I can tell you right now, in my excitement over Disney I easily out-squeal my sister. ;)

Going to WDW is akin to going on a pilgrimage in my family, the excitement is always there. :)

It never gets old for me. I first went when I was 10 and loved it. I last went to Disneyland when I was 32 and loved it more than I ever did. There is always the aura of that place and I think the older you get the more you appreciate the little things about the place. The unique things, etc.

Multiple visits don't effect the magic for me, but I will say that the loss of many great attractions, shows, and perks have made WDW a lot less magical in the last 20 years.

Doesn't get boring for us. There's so much to do at wdw, that there's always more stuff you wish u did while there. Between all the parks, resorts and restaurants... You can't do everything in a week. Add that new attractions and such open up every so often it keeps it new each trip.

I guess I'm the only one not snorting pixie dust. Since we moved to Florida last June and started going to WDW one weekend a month, I just don't care for it anymore. It doesn't help that my move to Florida directly followed 5 years of living next to Disneyland and visiting those parks constantly.

The reasons it's no longer magical:
  • During our visits we stay at my inlaws' vacation home which is a 30 minute drive through endless stoplights and traffic from the parks, so it's a huge hassle just getting there and back. Certainly not anything like staying at a Disney resort. (The 2 nights this past year we stayed on property were awesome in comparison.)
  • Being "locals" means weekend only visits and weekends are so crowded you just can't enjoy yourself very much. The crowds are overwhelming. We waited 30 minutes for People Mover last weekend!
  • We had a baby last year and while it has definitely been magical watching her experience the characters and attractions throughout her first year, it is also exhausting. Even after 4 hours I'm ready to collapse. She isn't one of those robot babies who just sits mindlessly in a stroller all day long. Since she was born she has hated being confined, always wants to be out moving around and getting into everything. She hates being carried as well, so having to stand in a 15 minute pre-show while she kicks and squirms and screams to get down isn't my idea of fun.
  • I think my attitude is especially bad right now as we are in the middle of the summer heat and our last few visits have been unbearably hot (I HATE being hot). I don't enjoy myself when it's over 80 and our last few visits it's been around 100.
If someone told me I didn't have to go to WDW again for a year, I'd be thrilled! But it's my husband's favorite place and the one thing he looks forward to each month so I just suck it up for his sake.
