I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas about what to do if you are deathly afraid of flying. I hate flying more than anything in this world. Going on vacation and going to Disney World is the only thing that will actually get me on a plane. I was hoping I could get some help on what I should do this time around!?! Please help!!!
One word...Xanex. I have panic-attacks when I fly and my doc prescribes me about 4 or 5 pills to get me through the flight down and back. Works wonders, that and my IPOD
I've flown my whole life. It's something that's practically in my DNA but I still get bothered by turbulence and take-offs. Also descending through turbulence...not too enjoyable. What I do is read something before take off or just look straight ahead at the seat in front of me. It get me focused and I'm able to find a center (new-agey I know) to relax and enjoy the flight. If I'm not watching TV shows on my iPod I listen to music and read. Funny thing is my husband and I don't even talk to each other while in-flight. He's not to keen on flying but is becoming more tolerant. We just kinda zone-out from each other until the descent. Then it's the chatty excitement of getting to Orlando!
Anyhoo..long story short...do whatever you think will make you feel more comfortable about the flight. Sometimes a pill will help, also if you are travelling with someone who isn't fearful and can lend support, I'm sure that's a big help too.
