Aerial photos of Disneyland Resort Paris

A few hours ago, Keyhole began allowing access to a new database of aerial photographs that includes quite a bit more coverage around the world. One of the first things I tried was a visit to Disneyland Resort Paris, and I took some screenshots to share.

We begin with an overview of the entire resort. You can see that the two parks are on the left and the hotels, parking lot and Disney Village are on the right. The two sides are split by the train tracks.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpoverview8vj.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/6936/dlpoverview8vj.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Next is a closeup of the parking lot. The long white structure in the center is where you'll find the moving walkways. Lots of buses were there when this was taken.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpparking5ye.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/1294/dlpparking5ye.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's a closeup of the Hotel Cheyenne (top) and Hotel Santa Fe (bottom):

Sequoia Lodge:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpsequoia7se.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/9655/dlpsequoia7se.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Newport Bay:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpnewport7kd.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/184/dlpnewport7kd.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Hotel New York:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpny9gw.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/2/dlpny9gw.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's the Disney Village:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpvillage1zw.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/1488/dlpvillage1zw.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

The RER/TGV train station:

The first park we'll visit is Disneyland Paris. The Disneyland Hotel can be seen at the bottom.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpdl9yd.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/4214/dlpdl9yd.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's Frontierland. The large building in the lower right is the ride building for Phantom Manor. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad takes up most of the rightmost island. The structure in the upper left is the Chaparral Theater.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpfrontierland7op.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/31/dlpfrontierland7op.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Next is Adventureland. Indiana Jones is just left of center. The two huge buildings at the top are for Pirates of the Caribbean.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpadventureland3ri.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/479/dlpadventureland3ri.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's Fantasyland. The castle is at the bottom center (much nicer to look at from the ground!). The large building on the right is for it's a small world.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpfantasyland9yg.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/3199/dlpfantasyland9yg.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

The last one for this park is Discoveryland:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpdiscoveryland6wp.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/5773/dlpdiscoveryland6wp.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Now we head on over to Disney Studios Paris:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpstudios6ho.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/3861/dlpstudios6ho.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's the front area of the park. The large building in the upper center is Studio One, the building to its left is Cinemagique, and the one to its right is Animagique.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpwdsentrance2qf.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/7438/dlpwdsentrance2qf.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

In this picture, the building on the left is The Art of Disney Animation. The flying carpet ride can be seen at the bottom. I have no idea what the large building in the upper right is.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpanimation5zc.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/5725/dlpanimation5zc.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

I think the big dirt area in this one is the future site of the Tower of Terror, but I'm not sure. The Armageddon show is directly to its upper left.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlparmageddon1fu.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/152/dlparmageddon1fu.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

The center building here is the TV production tour. The building right above it is the Backlot Express Restaurant.
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlptourscine3dk.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/2413/dlptourscine3dk.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlprnrc5qw.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/7638/dlprnrc5qw.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

Here's Moteurs...Action:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpmoteurs6au.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/6344/dlpmoteurs6au.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

And finally Catastrophe Canyon:
<a href="http://img56.echo.cx/my.php?image=dlpcc6ui.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img56.echo.cx/img56/7328/dlpcc6ui.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

I'm not terribly familiar with this resort, so please excuse any errors.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Hi there,

great aerial views! I always love these sort of pictures, since they give a nice overview of all the buildings and their size/position/etc.

You are mostly correct with your comments, here are some additions and corrections:

- In the picture of the WDS TV Production Tour you say that the building above it is the Backlot Studio Tour, this is not the Studio Tram Tour as you may think but a restaurant (don't know if you meant to say this)

- The big dirt area in the middle of WDS is indeed the future location of the Tower of Terror. There is not much to see on this picture but in reality they are already heavily working on the foundations for that ride, which will open in 2008

- The large building above and to the right of the Art of Disney Animation building and Flying Carpets over Agrabah is in fact the new Costume Building of the resort. Here the castmembers can collect their costumes for the day. If you do the Studio Tram Tour, which takes you to Catastrophe Canyon first, you will also drive next to this building and you can take a little peak inside (not much to see, though)

- Also funny to note is on the picture of the parking lot you can see a smaller parking lot to the right side...on the other side of the railway tracks. This is in fact the Castmember parking lot for those working in the Disneyland Park

Hopefully this helps!

I have a question perhaps Jorn or some one else can help me out with.
The large white building on the other side of the tracks attached to the StarTours building.
What is that?
I've noticed it in other overhead shots. Is it a part of StarTours or something else?

It's a convention & special event facility (actually a big white tent)
Mystery solved. Thanks Grandmath!

Now for my next DLP question:

I know that the (neverbuilt) ToonTown was supposed to lie between Discoverland and Fantasyland with a tunnel to it running between the (never built - that word seems to come up a lot when discussing DLP) Little Mermaid darkride and Videopolis. That's my understanding at any rate.
But what I haven't been able to determine was Toon Town to be inside the tracks on the small piece of land or outside the tracks roughly where that big white tent is?

Anyone?

Thanks for setting me straight! I got the info from some website, and I did think it was a bit odd.

I think the Toontown story is a rumour, I may be wrong but Ive never read anything official from EDLSCA about it. What I can confirm is that on the original site plans between Videopolis and IASW is a single plot for future expansion, where Meramid was due to go (probably outside the berm in the main, like IASW and PotC)

Other confirmed but never built DLP attractions are Beauty and the Beast stage show (not the MGM Version) on the hill in Fantasyland (south of the Teacups), Discovery Mountain (covering most of Discoveryland), Jungle Jeep (between PotC and BTMRR, Indy takes up some of this plot) and Geyser Mountain (on the RR track and outside the berm west of Rivers of the Far West, accessed from Phantom Manor area)
