We have never seen either the Nemo or Lion King shows and really want to this year. Any advice on timing so as to minimize our wait in line? Is first thing in the morning best? What is your experience with these shows....thanks!:king:

I would say to go first thing for the shows, especially for Nemo. It sometimes can be canceled. Both shows are amazing, and are must-sees (at least to me).

(This is OT, but for FOTLK try to sit in the Lion section. It's the best!:sohappy:).

To avoid having to queue up 35-45 minutes before the show, see the first show of the day or one of the last two shows. The morning is better, especially on days that are expected to be crowded. Plus you don't have to worry about cancellations, which don't happen so often anyway.

If you can't sit right in the front, then sit on at least the second riser seat, especially if you have kids. The floor seats are all on the same level, and kids often can't see anything at all if you sit up there. The risers provide unobstructed views.

Just play it by ear and when you have done the high priority items, then check the show times.

Last Decemeber we walked into the Lion King after they were already admitting people and had to wait only 10 minutes inside for the show to start. There are no bad seats at Lion King.
For Nemo, we asked a cast member who was standing in the 'road' directing people and, after getting the next starting time for it, found that we could go ride Dinosaur and then come back. Worked well; we got lucky.

Have fun.

we walked right in at about 10 mins to go one lunch time, still got great seats, would have been little upset if i qued for 45 mins to get in!

It depends greatly on the time of year. Most of the time, I have just walked in, too. But at Easter, Christmas, and late June and July, and other similar times, (President's week, perhaps) sometimes the queues are already at capacity if you wait that long.

nicnic and RiversideBunny bring up a good point - when are you going to be there?

The show times vary depending on day and time of year and crowd. The first one is usually at 10:30 or 11.

For Nemo, the first show of the day is one of the only ones that doesn't have a long wait outside -- although you still need to arrive about a half hour early. The theatre itself is huge so they fit more and more people into it as the day goes along (similar to Indiana Jones at DHS, which they just pack in)...Lion King has fewer seats and often longer waits.

First show of the day -- or wait till the last show of the day. Note that the last show of the day will often conflict with the parade and other things if you have little ones with you who like parades.

We saw FOTLK in the late morning during the middle of the week. I think we saw an 11 or 11:30 show. It was so wonderful! We were in the lion section and had a great view. I know that for little kids it might be a bit harder for them to see, depending where you sit. If you're near the aisle it might work out.

Didn't have a chance to see Nemo but I heard good things about it.

You can do the AK in one day easy. I would not worry about missing anything or show. I like to catch the Lion King show towards the end of the day after the afternoon parade. I haven't seen Nemo, but if it's anything like Tarzan it will not be a problem trying to get around and see everything. Try to see Flights of Wonder, a great rest stop and show. Get wet for me at Kali River Rapids!! I love that ride. I will ride Everest on my next visit in Nov. 08 if I'm not too chicken!!!

I just wanted to chime in since nobody mentioned it but for Nemo don't sit up front. Just like Tarzan Rocks the performers use the aisle area between the lower & uper section of the theatre. So if you don't want to kill your neck at a few portions of the show don't sit there. I like to sit within the first couple rows of the uper section for a great view of the entire show.

Not going during busy season....but thanks so much, will aim for the first show for Nemo and last show for Lion King. We will be going there another day for at least part of the day so if I miss one will try again. Have been there about 6 times in the past and have done it all...except the shows....and think I will go for the flight show as well....thanks for the advice and insights all!!!!:king:

When I got to AK, I head to the safari first and then head to the Lion King (the best show in all of WDW - in my opinion!!). Sometimes waiting 20 mins for them to open the doors. I have also ran in with 5 mins before they closed the doors and gotten a good seat........in fact I don't think there are any bad seats in there.

Nemo.............definately NOT my favorite, but I can now say I have seen it. The line was HUGE!!!! So I ran and jumped on Everest and then walked into Nemo and was still able to get a seat (early afternoon show).

If for some reason you cannot see both shows and have to pick one - trust me when I tell you to pick Festival of the Lion King!!

Oh, well then, you should have no problem. If it is not the busy season, then check out the show times and pick one that's convenient for you. If you want your pick of seats, get there 10-20 minutes before the show. If you don't care where you sit, just go a bit before show time. Make sure you allow plenty of time to get there a bit ahead of time, though, because they won't admit you after the show starts.

The rear of the bleachers fill up last, and I think that those are some of the best seats because of the rise anyway.

I'm a little surprised that more people on the site haven't spoken up about the show (given how critical we can be). I'm a big Disney fan, a big Nemo fan, and very easy to please, but despite how amazingly talented all the actors are, I just find the show WAY too long and (I hate to say it) a little boring.

My advice is if you think the wait for the show is too long, or if it is not being performed at a time convenient to you, just skip it. ...But don't miss FotLK!

We saw both shows in August. Nemo was always crowded, but worth it. The Lion King continued on during evening extra magic hours (Nemo did not). We saw it then and there was no waiting- it didn't even fill up completely.

Glad I'm not the only person who feels like that. The actors were too distracting to me, but all the kids around me loved it. Go figure. Maybe it's the building........I didn't really care for Tarzan Rocks either
