Advice on Story Book Dining

I will be in Disney in late January for my first solo trip 🙌🏼 I typically visit with my husband and kids. I have two days planned at MK, one being my arrival day and another full day later in the week. On my full day, I have Ohana booked for dinner. I have never been there and I’m 100% keeping that ADR as I’ve always wanted to try it. For my arrival day, I currently have Artist Point booked for dinner. I like the idea of checking out Wilderness Lodge because I’ve never been and I would love to get some pics with the Snow White characters. However, I’m a little iffy on two things. One, time. Where it’s a partial day, obviously getting there and back would be time consuming and take away from my MK park time. And two, the bigger issue, the menu isn’t really blowing me away. I love food and I love trying new and unique things however, I do have a short list of things I just don’t like. One being mushrooms and two being seafood. That’s 2/3 of the appetizer. I’m also not a big horseradish person so between that, mushrooms and seafood, that eliminates a bunch of the entrees.
I’m really second guessing this ADR. I know sometimes substitutions can be accommodated but I feel like I have too many dislikes and the CMs would end up hating me 🤣
If anyone has been pre-closure or will be going soon, I’d love some opinions!

We ate there pre closing and absolutely loved the experience! Seeing the Queen is worth the price of admission alone. We enjoyed the food and desserts and I am a little bit of a picky eater. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service was fine. We were quite disappointed when we went this September and it was not open! Now that it reopened it will be my first reservation when I book my next trip. You will enjoy this immensely.

They haven't changed the price but they've changed the experience. So funny to me that Disney has the audacity to charge the same price and have the characters just walk thru the room and wave.

I can almost hear them under their breath "thankssss SUCKAS!"

Why not go to WL and eat at Geyser Point instead? If you don’t like the menu at a restaurant I see no reason why you would make a reservation there.

We need time for things to happen.
The food is very good, but it sounds like you may have a few things on here you're not going to go for.
The character experience is definitely fun and unique, I think you just need to decide if the character experience and a few less (or possibly alternate depending on how mad you want to get your server 😂) choices is worth the price.

I went and really loved my experience. As far as time goes, they actually rushed us which I didn't love but that might actually help your situation. We did a three-course meal + character photos in around an hour. I thought the food was pretty good. It wasn't gourmet 5-star cuisine but I don't think I've ever truly had that in Disney. I enjoyed what I got - the apps were good, the desserts were fun, and I liked my entree (I got some sort of pasta dish).

If you don't like mushrooms or seafood, you'll be fine. You can still have 1 of the 3 apps, an entree, and technically 4 desserts. It's SO much food, you won't miss the 2 apps! Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort - it's so beautiful to see. This experience would take probably 2 hours min between trans and eating so if you're okay with missing 2 hours out of your MK day, give it a try! If not, I recommend both Be Our Guest and Skipper Canteen inside the park that would cut down on time! Have fun whatever you choose!
