My parents are coming up to visit and go to disney for their anniversary and I wanted to take them somplace very nice now that I actually have some money. I do not get to see them very often so I want to take them somewhere nice/quiet with good food. Just as an aside they like seafood (salmon/tuna/crab)

I wanted to get some feedback from people with firsthand experience on the quality and atmosphere of the following list of restaurants. I would like to keep it under 200 (including tip) for the three of us with myself getting an entree and dessert and both of them getting appetizers/entrees/dessert/wine.

I realize I can just look at the menus (which I did) but I just wanted a general idea from people with firsthand experience. Anyway heres my list;

Artist point-Wilderness lodge
yachtsman steakhouse-yachtclub
fultons-downtown disney
citricos-grand floridian
bluezoo-Dolphin
Narcoossee-grand floridian

and suggestions are always welcome.

I would suggest Victoria and Alberts first off. Try for the Chef's table. I think it's one of the best if not THE best restaurant on property. Another very good restaurant that is not on your list is Jiko.

I will be doing the sunset safari at the Animal Kingdom which is open to concierge patrons and it includes a 6 course dinner at Jiko. I can't wait!

As far as what is on your list, I would suggest Narcoosee's for Seafood. The Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is also very good. (And Micheal Eisners favorite) The last time that I ate at the Yachtsman I was dissapointed in the quality of the food.

These are my top choices in upscale dining.

If you have any questions or need help in making reservations please feel free to contact me.

You stated seafood...The salmon was great at the Artist point. We also enjoyed Yachtmans in Sept.

I use to love fultons but haven't been there in a while since the dining plan doesn't cover it.

the only thing is I'm not sure you will be under 200 dollars at the places I mentioned for 3. Artisist point came to 147 for two and no wine and YM is similar.

While it's not on your list, I recently ate at the California Grill and can recommend that. Do they like sushi, because the Cali Grill has some of the best I've ever had. In addition to the excellent food it has the best view you can get. Not only do you have a clear view of the Magic Kingdom and its resorts, but you can see Epcot and MGM in the distance! The only downside might be its price as it would probably be over your $200 limit. We were on the meal plan when we ate there. The Coral Reef at Epcot is a good semi-upscale seafood place also.

I also thought Brown Derby is a good place. They have grouper which is a good fish.

We recently ate at Narcoosee's on the dining plan. For 3 adults and 1 child, including appet., entree and desert with tip wouol have cost around $280. However, one was a steak/lobster tail and another was lobster, both over $50 each. DH had a fish dish, sorry can't remember which one, that he said was very good. It was a quiet, upscale restaraunt on the water. It wasn't overly upscale, as in a suit and tie, but resort casual, comfortable. Oh, and the lobster was YUMMY! :slurp: :slurp: :slurp:

Hope this helps.

For seafood, I would suggest Flying Fish or blueZoo (at the Swan and Dolphin) if they like more progressive, "trendy" dining. Narcoossee's if they like more traditional fine fare.

You've had some good suggestions and I can recommend almost all of them. Just did Chef's Table (which may be too hard to get at the last minute) but even the V&A dining room is nice and would make for a great treat. Ate at Jiko, Artist Point, California Grill, Bistro de Paris, Brown Derby, in the last couple weeks; enjoyed them all. (Still need to try Narcoosees and Citricos.)

TIP: when booking this, tell the agent that it's for an anniversary event. We've done special cakes for birthdays before (which were not that impressive, actually) but you can make other arrangements to have that night be very special. Just let the hostess/server know.

Thank you everyone for your great suggestions

I know they have already eaten at victoria and alberts, and we have also eaten at california grill. I also found out that they have already eaten at artist pointe as well as fultons.

We won't be going into any parks on the day of the dinner, hence the reason they are all in resorts or at downtown disney.

I was quite interested in jiko however I think it might be a little "interesting" for my parents.

I think I have it narrowed down to either narcoossee's or bluezoo, so hopefully I can make a reservation soon.

Thanks again everyone!
