Late October is usually not an extremely busy time of year. I'd plan on the crowds being light to moderate, with little to no wait for the less popular attrations, and a minimal wait on the popular rides. There are no school holidays in my old district during this time.

I've never been to that other place that you mentioned... :lookaroun ... on the days of HHN, but a separate ticket is required for that event. Expect rather large crowds for that. I've heard of people waiting an hour or more for the haunted houses.

Someone else will probably be more familiar with HHF, but I hope this helps!

BTW, welcome to the forums!

I don't think it's that people here don't like Universal so much as that we like Disney so much we don't even remember there's another theme park in Orlando! I know I've never run out of things to do at WDW...maybe if I ever do I'll venture to Universal...maybe...

We go to WDW every year in October now. The crowds are are light, with it being a bit to moderate on the weekends.

For the most part, rides are walk-ons or very minimum wait times.

I think it one of the best times to visit, and now Epcot has the Food & Wine the whole month.

The biggest con is the shorter hours at MK, MGM and AK, but with the lighter crowds, you can do just about everything, plus the Halloween Party at MK is open late, so it's like a E-Ride night.

Don't do Universal, so can't help you on that...

Have fun!

In my opinion, Universal is like a blood-thriving (couldn't use the word I wanted to...) leech living off of Disney. If it wasn't for WDW, Universal would have most likely never considered building a park here. I guess thinking this way the case is the same for Seaworld, but Universal just plays way too much off of Disney. I didn't really have a problem with them until their, 'Pixie dust and fairy tales not your thing' campaign.

This will be our third trip at the exact same dates as you are going. Crowds are moderate to light with weekends being the worst. I think there is a golf tournament that week as well, or there was one last year that caused some congestion at our hotel. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is that month. We avoid the Friday/Saturday dates because the locals tend to come in for those as there is no school the next day. We did the party on a Sunday last year and it was lighter than the year before. This year we are going on a Wednesday (20th). Definetly something to catch even with the extra charge to get in.

i went around the 10th of Sct. last year and it was relatively crowded, but not packed. Hope you have fun! :)

Ahhh, Columbus Day and it's weekend. It gets mighty crowded on that weekend, but mostly at MK. Starting on the Tuesday after the Columbus Day weekend, it gets back to normal light crowds again.
