Uh yea...I'd say that was judgemental. Your judgement is the same as me saying your an alcoholic because you want to drink and also the equivelent of saying, you can't bring your kids into the Biergarten beacuse they serve alcohol. They serve alcohol everywhere but MK. It's completely rediculous!

It is my parenting abilities that have me questioning the idea.....not storming off to teach the kiddies how to hold their liquor.

Forget it. Thanks to everyone who helped me :)

Honestly, everyone that I see bring children into the club always has the same thing happen to them. They usually get teased by the cast for, "Bringing Children to a Bar" and the kids end up sitting around confused as to what most of the jokes mean.

The Biergarten is a Restaurant/Bar, but it's in Epcot. Adv. Club is on Pleasure Island, the club district of Walt Disney World. Even if your kids don't encounter the wonderful drunks in the club, they'll surely see them while you're out on the island. Honestly, if it's possible, try to find a sitter (Disney has some great services available) and take some time to yourself for the evening :)

Biergarden, the world showcase, MGM, DAK. These arent bars. One's a resturant and the rest are theme parks. Clearly not a bar.

Adv Club, 8-Trax, Motions, High Octane (That place across from Backlot Tour), Tune-in Lounge, The place in DAK in Africa right over the bridge. These are BARS. Any place where i can do a shot of tequilla is not a place for your child.

Why am i being so judgemental? Count the number of strollers that go through PI. Count the number of toddlers that are dragged into Adv Club. Its just downright annoying to the rest of the people who paid the same good money you did who actually want to enjoy an adult-oriented show.

Kat is much more diplomatic about these things than i am. I'm just sick and tired of getting my drinks from Dana or Jen at the bar, turning around and bumping into 1) A six year old, 2) a stroller, or 3) That lady who had the puppy service animal that ______'d all over the rug.

Typical. Get some answers you don't like, and you get mad.

You asked for opinions, not all of them are going to be in your favor.

I'm glad i read this thread, I was going to start one of my own of a related nature.

My family is off to WDW around New Years and we have my cousin along for the journey. She is 20 something and obviously looking for something different to my 13yr old brother or older parents. I'm 18 (of legal drinking age here in the UK) and have been interested in seeing the AC for a while.

It seems this is something we could do together if we have the time?

IMHO I would say definately yes! As you are fellow Brits, imagine the humour is a bit Blackadder, a bit Carry On and a bit panto. You'll love it!

You are in a completely different situation, and I would say yes to you checking out the AC.

However, remember that you won't be able to drink regardless of the UK's drinking age.

yes I understand that I wouldn't be able to drink. Its not really a problem for me as I'm not a big drinker.

It sounds perfect so I'll have to go check it out

I love how all of the "Brining children to PI" threads get ugly. Don't attack someone's parenting skills without knowing them.

I worked at PI for a year when I was on my College Program back when the island was 'closed' (turnstiles on the bridges) and there were far fewer children on the Island back then. Then they decided to open the whole d*mn thing up so everyone and their brother could loiter all night long (whoa, rant!). And the number of children on the island increased.

I personally don't think PI is ANY place for children under 18. I've seen parents bring their teenagers all 'hoochied' up onto the island...that's not parenting, that's advertising.

*steps off soapbox*

Sorry thats my perrogative if someone's going to bring a small child or infant to a nightclub, I'm going to be as judgemental as humanly possible. I'm sure most DSS or Depts of Child Services would agree with me on this.....

I still don't understand why on earth any parent would want to bring their children into PI... I mean this is Disney World, aren't there tons of other things you could be doing w/ your kids?

Perhaps some parents feel the need to even out the wholesome entertainment of the day with some randy, raucous, drunken nightclub revelry!

I'd just like to make it abundantly clear that I am not mad at all. In point of fact I could care less what you think of me. You can be as judgemental as you'd like. I mean after all, isn't that what being on the internet under an alias is all about? Being the better person by passing judgement on a complete stranger.

As for your issue with strollers, toddlers, and puppys. I didn't bring any of those things into your BAR so please...don't blame me.

Honestly I asked for opinions, not to be judged. I said I was considering it, not that I had done it. That is the exact reason why I asked. I did not know if it was appropriate or not. I asked you but, rather than READ what I wrote and answer accordingly you have dismissed me as a bad parent because I asked a question so that I could be informed and not make a bad choice. May I suggest that if you are incapable of reading the actual posts and responding to the question, you not respond at all.

and BTW for the second time I am not even the kids parent I am their babysitter and their mother is the one that suggested we take them to AC(she didn't know if it was ok either), but being the "good" parent that I am I suggested we get opinions from people who had been there, before we took them somewhere they did not belong. So before you get all loud on your soapbox why don't you try a little understanding

I thought it was innocent untill proven guilty. I guess that doesn't hold true here at WDWMagic

Have a nice day :) (and I mean that in the nicest possible way)

I say bring 'em but bring 'em early.

We took our first family trip to WDW this past Feb. arriving about 5pm. We certainly weren't going to leave our kids with a sitter on our first night in WDW. And given the brevity of our stay (4 days), we knew that was our one night to visit Downtown Disney and PI. So we had dinner in DTD then wandered thru PI. Our kids were 5 and 7. The only club we went into was the Adventurers Club. But it was before 8pm, and there were nearly as many families there as adults. We went straight to the Library for the show.

Disney says you can bring them into the AC so if some of the adults here don't want your kids in the club, let them take it up with Disney not you. And don't let anyone else make you feel like there is something wrong with your parenting skills for going to see the show. Most of the humor went right over my kids' heads but they enjoyed the talking masks and were oblivious to what kind of drinks were in people's glasses. I'm glad we stopped in there for 20 minutes.

Just an FYI, in your original post it says "I have 2 kids with me", so i'm sure you can see where people made the assumption that you were the parent in charge.

Any parent who brings their child into a night club/bar ought to be ashamed of themselves...

sorry, but i say dont bring them.

cant the adults have one small place, pleasure island, where we dont have to worry about kids being underfoot, have to worry about language etc?

my feeling is that PI should be 21 and older, enforced.

It is kinda for adults - we made the mistake of going on a Saturday night, which is "Meth Night" and ended up in a very uncomfortable All Nude Hoopty-Doo Review show in the Library where an audience member was bludgeoned to death with a Ukulele by the dancer (the Maid one I think). We tried to keep laughing, but the brutal public beating by a nude cast member kinda took the humor out of the room, mostly. Then the "Magical Insults" parade as you walk back into the main room from the bathroom hallway was not as fun as it might sound, although I suspect it may have just been a homeless guy insulting people and ranting about the government rather than an actual Disney event.... Definitely, based on our experience - I would say no kids under 8 years old should go...

What the heck are you talking about? There is never nudity or anything, especially any kind of "Public Beating" so I honestly have no clue what you're talking about.
