I've never been there and was thinking of going on my next trip. Problem is I have 2 kids with me(ages 6 and 10). Is it innapropriate for kids?
Disney's site says that 18 and under are allowed in with a someone 21 and up. Any comments/suggestions? Thanks

I think that it would be appropriate if you dont partake in the 'special entertainment' held in the parlour (basically a rated PG 14 roasting of audience members that probably wouldnt be appropriate for your lil ones.

The decor and the actors are really cool and I could see children loving the atmosphere but with alchohol around, you have to keep a really watchful eye. Hope that helps

I've found from previous experiences, that the later in the night it is, the bluer the humor and more rampant the innuendoes can get.

Although once when we were there around midnight, a member of our party had their two youngest with them (2 and 4 years) and some of the different AC members had some histerical comments about the drinking ages finally being lowered. And the mother and father of the children got some good natured ribbing from some of the same AC members. It was very funny, and all in good fun!!

Oh and while the AC members ad lib their show and can change their humour at any time, you have to watch out for the other guests who may choose to "let it all hang out so to speak".

Use the AC with your children at your discretion, (I believe) would be a wise rule of thumb.

I agree with the above posters and would add that the place is full of eye candy for the kids, it is also a drinking establishment and yes, the later it is, the more risque' it is. Kungaloosh!!

Keep in mind the most important factor....IT'S A BAR. Just b/c you're at WDW doesn't make it any less a bar. I would suggest getting there at opening and staying through the Balderdash Cup. After that it starts to go downhill from there as far as appropriateness for children.

"Oh look its the couple who brought their children to a bar!" Get ready to hear that all night, lol.

I would suggest using a sitter service if you really want to get out and see the AC and other things at PI. The folks that work there aren't going to do anything that would damage your kids but the other guests are another story.

I can confirm what most everyone else has said. The later it gets the more risque the humor can get. Quite frequently the cast will tone things down a bit if there are young ones in the audience which can be a little unfair for the rest of the guests there.

For your 2 kids I would recommend getting to the club at opening (7:00 pm) and leave after the 8:30 +/- show in the library. You can actually do this without purchasing a PI ticket as all the clubs at PI are free from 7-9. If you wish to stay for the entire evening I would highly recommend getting a sitter for the evening.

I agree. Parents still forget that it's a bar, there's alcohol and most likely drunken people. If you want to, go in the beginning, but as it gets later in the night you might want to head out because things start to get a little more risque.

"Wow you have a baby................in a bar...................."

It is great fun....and worth a night of getting a sitter and having fun with your husband for a few hours. The kids will probably have more fun that way as well.

I would never consider a bar or a nightclub an approprate place for anyone under the age of 21. I mean anywhere at anytime. However I am not the childrens parents. I also think the children would rather be at the MK rather than the AC.

LOL the kids would rather be in Epcot than MK :) (especially with Haunted Mansion closed!)

We have an ADR for Raglan Road at 8:30 so we figured that we would see AC before dinner. It just me and a girlfriend and her kids (LOL and I am the babysitter!). We have no desire to see any of the other clubs besides AC. We were under the impression that it was a comedy club not only a bar. Good to know its not $21 before 9.

Thanks for the heads up.

Like others have said, things get more risque as the night goes on, but of course most of it would go over childrens' heads anyway.

Searching youtube for adventurers club pulls up quite a few clips, which should give you a sense of what the humor is like. I wouldn't want to explain to my (nonexistant) kids what the Masochism Tango song is about ;)

If you can get a sitter, be sure to check it out, though! Best place on property!

What they said. There are plenty of people who go to Adv Club - Like me - who go to Drink and have a good time. Because theres nothing worse in the world then doing a shot of your favorite tequila and turning around to find a six year old (unless its an infant or a puppy).

So bring your kids just understand that there are patrons who actually consume alcohol there and cut loose.

I love the Mailman song!

There's another clip on YouTube that cracks me up of sexy Scottish Otis singing the Scotsman's Kilt song, where he pauses in the middle and asks "So, they tied a ribbon around his... Everyone got it? Even the kids in the bar at midnight?"

:ROFLOL:

I usually don't really notice kids in the bar until the cast jokes about them- I'm paying more attention to singing and clapping and drinking and having fun. I probably would feel weird doing shots next to a 6 year old, though!

Please keep in mind that kids attending some of the shows at AC do cause the performers to 'tone it down' a bit. I hate it when I'm sitting in the Hoopla at 12:30 and there are 5 year olds there. I want to hear the full jokes, not the G rated version. Not that anything is really 'R' but there is a reason for them to ask if there are children.

Okay, I'm getting Judgemental here. If you bring a kid to AdvClub thats under the age of 13 (we'll go with that because of the PG-13 movies) there's something seriously wrong with your ability to be a parent. Its a bar, its an alcohol environment where people go to drink.

(Likewise if you bring a newborn infant there.)

I agree that while you may be at WDW...it is STILL a bar!

Uh yea...I'd say that was judgemental. Your judgement is the same as me saying your an alcoholic because you want to drink and also the equivelent of saying, you can't bring your kids into the Biergarten beacuse they serve alcohol. They serve alcohol everywhere but MK. It's completely rediculous!

It is my parenting abilities that have me questioning the idea.....not storming off to teach the kiddies how to hold their liquor.

Forget it. Thanks to everyone who helped me :)
