Very Interesting...Disney's name and service is unparalled in the travel industry. Let's hope this lives up to what they are best known for...It looks like a very good Idea.

A while back I participated in a Disney on-line survey about this. It was quite interesting from a marketing standpoint. The survey would show you sample print ads for travel packages, first from an outfit like Tauck, then you will see an ad that was almost the same, with the same "bullet points" and so on, except that it would have the Disney logo on it. Then after each you were asked for your opinions, and one of them was about how much you would pay for the trip.

It was clear they were trying to gauge how much more someone would pay for the same tour just because the Disney name was on it. I wonder if this is subcontracted through Tauck or another big travel company?

Dont think so, there has been many job postings for "Guides" and such. Oddly enough the postings came out under the "WDI" catagory.

many job postings over the last 6 months

Over the last 6 months they have had lot of job postings for the new "adventures by Disney". About half have been for venue managers, trip planning managers, and trip facilitators while half have been for guides. They have also been split between WDI and WDTC. In reading through the job postings they apparently are planningat least 10-15 different venues for 2k6

I would be willing top bet a substantial amount that it is...

Nope... They are definately Disney Tour Guides and the whole project is done through Imagineering. The only contracted bits are the transportation from place to place and the lodging. Already there have been trials in Hawaii, and the response has been very positive...

It's interesting but not a big seller... most people think that Mickey is coming along... seriously! i've had several calls on that- It's hard to seperate the Disney name from the characters...

But who's to say the Disney characters won't be making an appearance? If that is something that people would expect... then isn't Disney's job to exceed expectations? Besides, characters need vacations too.

I was actually told about this last year. I can't wait for this to start. I will be offering this service to my clients. I can't wait to try it out myself.

Are you sure? It seems that setting up their own system would be much less cost effective than contracting it out to another company...
