Hi there everyone!
I'm a huge fan of the Adventurer's Club and i've been watching videos today on YouTube and it got me to thinking about behind the scenes stuff. Back when I lived there I used to be at the club at least a couple times a week and they do an amazing job with every show.

One thing i've always wondered is, with so much improvisational comedy in the music do they have somebody playing the music during the shows in the library? It seems like they stop and make jokes or they get off track with the unpredictability of the audience that it would be nearly impossible to have a pre-recorded music track for them. Does anybody know how they accomplish this?

Also any other little tidbits that could be shared about the club would be welcomed. I've searched the forums and couldn't find much about the club.

Thanks everyone!

"Fingers" is a live person playing a keyboard backstage. While the shows in the library are more scripted than some of the other interactions in the Club, Fingers needs to be just as improv-ready as the performers. It's similar to how the pianist at the Comedy Warehouse plays along with the comedians and needs to be able to "wing it" at a moment's notice.

I actually met Fingers briefly last June. I'd been hanging out with a group in the parks that I'd randomly met. One of the group was a part-time bartender at the Club. After the last show of the evening some of the group were posing for photos on the Library stage (after the rest of the audience left) when Fingers came through and hopped in on one of the pics. Fingers seems to value his/her privacy and anonymity, so I won't post the pic.
(I presume that there are fill-ins to allow for days off, but I believe I met the primary Fingers.)

Where exactly does Fingers play from backstage? This is what has me perplexed. I would imagine they need to be able to see the performers.

There may be video feeds, but I believe the piano and at least one tech position (probably lights) is on an upper level behind the bar in the Library. The wall is of a different design and construction up there, so they may be able to see out.
I believe there's also a tech position (possibly sound) backstage on "house left" (to the left as you look at the stage).

I was thinking above the bar as well. That whole building is full of wonderful secrets that I would love to uncover!

Sweet, thanks everyone for the replies. I had a feeling the music was live like the Comedy Warehouse or Whose Line but I wasn't sure LOL

I've always wondered where the tech booth was and I spent many nights looking around to see if I could see it but never could figure it out. So many secrets in that building and Disney does a great job keeping them under wraps. If only I could get a couple hours to just roam around in there with no restrictions LOL A guy can dream right?

I always figured it had to be live, and I thought that maybe the booth was above the bar. Anyways, major props to "Fingers" because that job takes some talent.

I would looooooooooooooooooooooove to go backstage, I have an idea of the basic layout in my head, but I wanna see it for real.
