Adventureland Veranda: The next Club 33?

I have mixed thoughts and emotions on all of this. I would love to see that area become something again...be it a restaurant, meet and greet, really anything...I hate that TDO seems to have no problems with shuttering perfectly great spaces. I'm not sold on the idea of a Club 33 concept at WDW, honestly I don't think they could pull it off, but I also can't get onboard with another premium attraction/restaurant that I could never afford.

What would be great to me would be to open that space back up as an Adventureland themed restaurant again. The only food in the area is typically open seasonally, and I would love to see a cool Tiki themed space there. It would fit perfectly and could be anything from Counter Service to Full Service.

Just think of the possibilities for a huge, super premium Dole Whip bar in there as your dessert option after a nice lunch. I'd be all over that. :)

With all the Vacation Clubs and upscale restaurants at the resorts in WDW I don't think the MK park needs an exclusive club. Plus Club 33 is hidden away, the Adventureland Veranda? ...not so much, but I think all they really need to do is reopen the Veranda and make it the new home of the Dole Whip, make it a place to just relax, which is what it originally was

Wow Club 71! I love this idea...as a private club. The restaurant open to the public should happen as well. MK needs a little something other than hamburgers at Pecos Bill or Cosmic Ray's... Turn the Veranda into Club 71, and move Monsters Inc Laugh Floor to DHS where it belongs, and put The Astronomers Club restaurant that was proposed years ago in it's place... They would both be money makers!
Astronomers was supposed to overlay Plaza Pavilion or what is now Tomorrowland Terrace aka the noodle station

Well, this could work if they hadn't taken over the majority of the Adventureland Veranda Kitchen for Liberty Tree Tavern. But it's amazing what you could do if you took up the space of the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon with Kitchen Equipment to use for Liberty Tree Tavern and even expand it a bit there... then you could use Liberty Tree's kitchen for a nice little private club in the Veranda space.

Any Utilidor space under that area? Move the kitchen downstairs. Dumb waiters to the rescue.
Not enough room down there in that area. That entire area of the tunnels is a disaster waiting to happen and should have been rebuilt ages ago, but you know, asbestos was the primary fire retardant when that area was constructed, so it would be a massive undertaking to remove it there. You'd have to shut down the entire west side of the park to do it. (Minus Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.)

Yeah, that's a bear you don't want to poke.

But they're doing as-best-os they can...

You all are presenting terrific ideas in this thread. Someone at TDO, please read and re-read this thread carefully?

I would welcome practically anything be done with Adventureland Veranda, over what it is right now (half M&G space and half storage, or more recently half empty space and half storage?).
A.V. has (or used to have) great views of the hub, and could have nice views again once the construction is done. I remember visiting this place back in the 1970s, and it felt like a very special place. I think it was Kikkoman's back then. It was not incredibly fancy, the food was not really amazing, and it was not as well-themed as what we got someday at EPCOT, but looking out over the hub canal (Swan Boats!) felt like a unique experience.
A.V. felt like a very special place (to me at least), much more special than Liberty Tree or any other restaurant in the park, except perhaps Diamond Horseshoe which was more of a dinner show.

A.V. looks very dated now, inside and out, but a refurb with some new tile, windows, and a lick of paint would make it lovely again.

I'd say re-opening this, re-booting Diamond Horseshoe Revue, and re-imagining Tomorrowland Terrace would be three steps in the right direction. Selling snacks at Aunt Polly's again would be another... :)
