Advanced Internship after college?

I know in the past I had always been told that you could apply for an A.I. in your senior final semester of college and take it the year after you graduate. But today I received an e-mail from a C.P. alumni friend of mine saying she just heard that they no longer allow A.I.'s outside of college and that you must be enrolled in college in order to do an A.I. Does anyone know if this is true or can anyone find out if it is?

Thanks!

I just checked the CP website. Under the AI requirements, it says, "Be a college student in good academic standing at the time of your interview." So I'm assuming you just have to be in school when you apply. Or your can just email them at wdw.advanced.internship@disney.com. Hope this helps!

Just verified you can take it the semster after you graduate. But you must apply while you're still in school in your final semester.

yes, you can apply your last semester..... also, you can do a normal CP, and then apply for an AI at the end of that (so basicly you will be down there for a year)

From my understand of how things work now, some of the AI will no longer let you apply to them unless you are going back to school once you are done.

Its all still confusing right now but belive me it is happening, just depends on the AI.

Yea I have heard some of them are that way, but not all of them. Just hope the one I apply for isn't like that. But of course when I go to the informational session this fall I will be able to find out.

The one I had my eye on was "Epcot Communications Coordinator". It was listed there in Spring 2004, but then removed for Fall 2004. A different one called "Magic Kingdom Communications Coordinator" was put there which would be just as amazing of a position to me to do - just reading the description was making me DROOL! :slurp: Anyways, this is a non-alumni advanced internship, which is what I am. Someone told me I needed a reccomendation from a CP alumni to do this, anyone know if that is true?

Okay I'm blabbering on with more questions now, I'll hush up! :zipit:

Edit: And thanks a lot for the "good luck", egionet, but my interview isn't till like Spring '06. But I'll take it to heart anyways!

I've never heard anything about a CP alumni recommendation. There is something called a CP alumni reference card. This is a little card given to CP alumni that they can give to others they think are qualified for the program. It also enters them into a contest to win a Disney cruise for whoever gives the most referals. I'm not sure how much it really helps you to get into the program.

Hmmm.... good to know... I really want to apply for the marine mammal internship, but I'd like to do it just after I graduate so that I can use it as a step into the field. Unfortunately I'm already into my senior year, so doing it before I graduate really isn't an option. I'll have to find out about that one.
