It's about time. But does anyone know if this is just for Cast Members or main gates as well?

Cast members will be able to link their main gate and guest passes to MyDisneyExperience.
main gate, yes. guest passes? questionable...

Per the video on the Hub, linking a main entrance pass will automatically link your guest passes as well. You can book Fastpasses for them, but they cannot be linked to a magic band.

If they are going with fastpass+ only for certain attrations, then they have to do this for cast members. Good for cast members who deserve it but bad for everybody if it means fastpass only lines.

Good for them disney does need to support its cast members......they do make the magic continue up to exist...
Hopefully they can work something out for bog fpp it would be nice if they could go in 30 min before lunch and maybe aat the end of lunch at least everyone gets to experience it....it's Def not optimal but it would be something
