I do it at QS places all the time, I just don't eat a lot and it definitely saves money. I've never tried it at table service, but I've heard about others doing it with no problem.

With Quick Service it isn't an issue, Disney won't even bat an eye at the ordering. If you go to Table Serve places it shouldn't be a problem either as long as there is someone ordering off an adult menu as well. For example, one night my family went to the California Grill and my sister wasn't really very hungry. She ordered the kid pasta and they had no issue, but the rest of us ordered off the normal menu.

It would depend on the restaurant as well. When I was a CM at the Norwegian restaurant, there was never a problem for a kid to order from the regular menu or for an adult to order from the kids menu. BUT the prices are set there, if you're considered an adult (over 10 I believe it is) you have to pay the adult price. But you also get an adult sized portion of what you order. That restaurant is also very strict, so you if you go into the restaurant you have to pay, you can't just go with your family if you don't plan to eat there. That is probably because of the popularity since it's a character dining though.

As Evan stated it is not an issue at a QS. When it comes to TS it is at the discretion of the restaurant. As long at there is an adult ordering an adult meal it is typically not an issue. In many cases they will let an adult order and adult portion of a kids meal with a slight up tick in price. When it comes to buffet TS restaurants you will be charged according to your age regardless of what you eat.

i do it at quick serve all the time. otherwise when my sister and i travel together we order a single adult meal and split it. the prices at disney are certainly high but the portions are super sized.

Keep in mind that the chicken nuggets on the kids menu are the nasty processed ones rather than the whole nice white meat ones you get on the adult menu.

Also, if you order the kids burger, it will take a little bit because they make them to order. The wait is long but it's definitely fresh.

QS kids meals are a good deal if you don't have a huge apatite or don't want a big meal. Oh and though they list things like carrots and/or grapes for your 2 sides, you can also get fries and a cookie as well. :D

If you are considered "Mickey's little friend" you should be able to order it but now I noticed they use ages instead of that phrase. It used to be that they did not specify the ages.

I did it at QS all the time and no one cared. It was too hot to eat any kind of huge meal and I'm not the biggest fan of burgers. Plus it was much less expensive.

I don't think it would be a big problem at TS either. Probably the same as if you ordered a kids meal in a restaurant at home. People order the kids food for various reasons. I'm sure they'd either give you an adult sized portion of the kid food or may not care and just give you the smaller size if there are others eating adult meals.

This probably differs with the DDP, I'd imagine.

Although perhaps Disney should look into offering half sizes of full sized entrees at TS for those of us who don't want the huge serving but still want to taste the non kids food.

QS should be no problem, but TS could be hit or miss. If you are traveling with others the other option we have used is to order an adult meal and split it. Again much easier to do with a QS than TS but you can give it a shot.
