Have any of you gone to Disney without the kids?

I may be planning a vacation with just my husband and I, as a second honeymoon! I can't fathom Disney without the kids, but I also can't think of any place I'd rather go (Im not really a Vegas girl...not a drinker, smoker, or gambler...lol).

I can't picture Disney without the stroller, bags, and tons of things you need out there. Just my husband, me and a camera......wow! Sounds amazing as I type it out! LOL ;)

We need time for things to happen.
I can't imagine going to the world without the Family Four Pack.
I would be thinking of them every ride I got on or every site I saw that I know they'd love....
But the truth is eventually that day wil come so I'm relishing and enjoying this family set up for as long
as it's around.

With that being said - My wife and I went a few times before we had kids and it was freakin' awesome
and I'm sure it will be just as cool when the kids are older and off doing their own thing.

So bottom line, if you don't have quams about leaving the kids behind....
ENJOY your adults only trip - it will be a freakin' blast!

We went 2 years ago on our first kid-free trip... it was our 15th anniversary, and it was wonderful :) Stayed where we wanted to, ate at a more leisurely pace, didn't have to be worried that one would wander off, spent oodles of time wandering the world showcase... so glad we got to experience that again by ourselves (like we had before kids), but alas... we'll be spending another anniversary there (our 17th), but this time with the kids! Can't wait :)

btw... don't worry about the kids missing you. Have the grandparents babysit, and the kids will not care that you're gone (even to Disney!)

My husband and I took our very first Disney trip together on our honeymoon. No kids or in our case kid. She has gone with us on every trip since we took her at 5 yrs old. We do plan on going on an adults only trip when she leaves for college. Have fun on your trip!!

First your thread title had me really excited, just the male brain kicking in. I think it would a double edged sword. It would be nice to go but as others have said you would be thinking what the they are missing. All that alone time may lead to more kids! It would be hard to leave a child that understands where you are going and one that would want to go.

Just don't be that crazy parent who scars the kids by letting them follow on Instagram and Twitter.

Lets take this idea a stage further.
How about EMH in the parks that are adults only. You could leave the parks to the families all day, while you relaxed, played Golf or go to a spa. Then hit the parks late on, when all the kids are tucked up in bed.

I never had the grandparents babysit for more that one night. Just not something we ever considered. We didn't vacation that often so honestly it was never occured to us to go somewhere without her. I do have friends that asked why we never went without her and I always wondered why they would plan fun weeklong vacations without the kids. We have a date night once a week (minimum) and when she was old enough to travel (church, school, etc) without us is when we started doing something on our own. Just how we did it:)

I have often thought of this in the parks, it would be interesting.

Since we don't have kids, we have always visited by ourselves unless we take nephews and nieces with us along with their parents. The best part of not having any kids in tow is you can cover more ground and experience all the high thrill rides. Strolling through World Showcase at Epcot is especially fun as you can take your time and experience all that it has to offer

My wife (then fiance) went without kids in Sept. 2009. This was planned so I could pop the question at Cinderella's Royal Table. Anyway, it was the greatest trip of our lives. The other posters are right, it is a whole different world when you don't have kids. DO IT!!!!

i do trips with just my husband and sometimes with just my sister and myself and we LOVE it. And yes picture it without stroller, bags, and tons of stuff...it's like loosing 50lbs!!! That's half the bonus lol! I go in with my id, kttkc, my credit card, and THAT'S IT! Disney without kids means you are the kid BUT you can drink ;). My sister and i approach our trips basically like 1/2 bachlorette party and 1/2 8 year olds my husband and i approach it like a honeymoon and both are soooooo completely different trips than going with kids. we do nice dinners, stay to the end of emh, drink at a lounge or do a pub crawl when we want (love those disney bus designated drivers :)). we only do/ride what we want...it's fantastic! the hard part is the 1st trip you're back to having to carry all the stuff with the kids again lol.

Yes in 1976 and not again until 20 years later after the boys had grown up. It was great when we went in 1996 by ourselves. Relaxing!!! It is nice now going with the boys and their families, but it is also nice when just the 2 of us go.

EEEEK! This makes me even more excited! I think we've added our best friends to the mix too! So just me and hubby and her and her hubby! We'll just split a cabin and split the cost! :D

This year we're going with our adult children 19 and 22! We've been with and without them several times... The best part is being able to really enjoy the evenings! (Especially when the park closes at 2am!) It's also fun to have an adult beverage whenever and wherever you want! Enjoy.. besides now you can really slow down and enjoy all the small wonderful things! (oh and sit and listen to the band, singers etc without being dragged or hearing "this is soooo borrriiinnggg!!)
