I can't believe I'm asking this.. since it seems so obvious.. and I'm clearly embarassing myself by asking...
but how do you know when you are 180 days out and can start booking ADRs? Do you just count back on a calendar? Is there an easier trick? Am I a complete moron? haha

And can you book your ADRs for the whole trip once you are at the 180 day mark... or just your first day?

I often use this:

180 days is roughly 6 months, it doesn't have to be exact
Actually it does. If you are trying to reservations for places like Le Cellier or Cinderellas Royal table knowing your 180 day mark is absolutely essential as they tend to be booked solid in as much as 185 days out.

Also, I recently found out that the 180 day mark is for the first day of your vacation. So if, for example, today was 180 for you, they will let you book for all of the days in your trip. So if you're going for 7 days, and today is 180, you will be able to make the ADR's for each day in your trip, and not have to keep calling back for each day.

Hope this helps.

Great point but only if staying on property I believe?
It’s not a stupid question, just get a calendar and count back from your check-in date and have a great trip.

Ya know, I am not really sure, but my gut tells me yes.
You can book your dining at 180 days out regardless of whether you are on property or not. To book up to 10 days worth of dining from that 180 day mark (180 + 10 rule)you most be staying at a Disney resort.

The calculator is your best friend. And the 180+10 booking window applies only to those with Disney Resort reservations. You can book up to ten days' ADRs as soon as your 180 day mark is reached. If you have a 14 day reservation, you would only be able to book the first 10 days at the 180-day point and then come back daily for the subsequent 4 days.

If you go to disneyworld.com under My Vacation, you can input your itinerary and it will keep a running countdown to your vacation.
