I believe you forgot to add "IMO" to the start of your post.

So a party of 2 shouldn't be able to eat at the restaurant because they aren't big enough? I don't think this is going to become a widespread issue, but I am glad you as the morality police have this situation under control.
Clearly, you need one...

Please, do walk away. You've been beat, you know it, the proof is here in the thread. You started with giving us all a lesson on morality, and stating how upset you would be if you found out you couldn't have a table because someone else took the table from you. I called you on it, you didn't like that someone questioned your authority on the matter.

If you are the police, you are the cop that tried to abuse their power, got called on it and then slinks away hoping no one noticed.
You are kidding right? If you don't know it's selfish, you need help.. I have no problem doing that for you...

Are you threatening me? What are you going to do for me?

What is selfish about making a reservation for a restaurant that has space available? I go as a party of 4 or more so this doesn't affect me in the least, but you are all missing the point. Disney's reservation system is the problem here. The OP wanted to know why it would let him book a table for 3 but not a table for 2. They obviously have space and would prefer a party of 4 to use a table for 4 and are willing to have a party of 3 use it, but not a party of 2. I've never said I have or would do it, but Captain Hook's initial response was more than harsh and I called him on it.
