Congrats on your upcoming trip with your grandson! Love it. Looks like you've chosen some nice options here. We have always wanted to try Garden Grill but haven't gotten to yet.

Only do 1900 if anyone in your party either loves GF or will enjoy the character interactions offered and while I've never been to TRex, I've read some horror stories about food poisoning issues.

Have a great time!

We've done T-Rex a couple of times, it's fun. Not something I would go out of my way for, but it's worth doing once. The food is below average. It's all about the atmosphere. I think a 6 year old boy would enjoy it. My daughter enjoyed it. We've done 1900 for breakfast, and had a blast. Great character interaction and a variety of characters. I've heard a lot of others speak highly about character experience as well. Food is average, it's a buffet. We might do dinner on out next trip.

Personally, I'd skip Garden Grill. I'd also visit Crystal Palace - we enjoy the breakfast there rather than dinner
I agree, we was pleasantly suprised by Crystal. Beautiful atmosphere, decent food, plus you can get into the park early if you get an ADR at opening. Huge plus for us.

One Little Spark...
Crystal is best with a really early (before Rope Drop) breakfast. You get to see the park virtually empty, snap some pictures, and the food is great!

We love Garden Grill, a must do every trip with the kids. Great character interaction.

We haven't done T-Rex yet, but we plan on taking our 3yo son this year. I've heard some bad things, but it is a DINOSAUR restaurant. I know my son is going to love it, if your grandson is in to dinosaurs definitely try it.

Okay, you have your grandson with you. My Grandson is into Dinosaurs so the T-Rex is a must. He will really have his mind blown. We were at the T-Rex this past October 2014 and enjoyed the restaurant and enjoyed our meals. When I say we, it was just the DW and I. We are big kids. Also keep in mind the Rainforest is another option that he would love far as scenery. Try and get a table by the fish tanks and take him around to see the animatronics in action. The Sci-Fi Theater would be a great place for lunch with him for Burgers, shakes and fries. Lastly keep in mind you have this young man with you and that taking him to fancier restaurants might be a little boring to him but will have very good food. I know when we take our grandson out we try and make it decent to good food and make the experience as fun as possible. Now one place I would go is the Corral Reef for lunch or dinner because of the huge aquarium where he can eat and see all the sea life (Just a thought). The Garden Grill is fun and has good food and a good character interaction. Hope this helps a bit. Sincerely from one Grandparent to another.

Thanks for the ideas! Think I will look into Coral Reef. We have park hoppers so maybe we will head to Epcot for more than one meal. Need to check Gluten free offerings there since he has allergies.

We like both meals at 1900 Park Fare. We also had a good experience with TRex and I think any dinosaur loving kid would thoroughly enjoy it. Crystal Palace breakfast has also become a must do for us each trip.

Coral Reef and T-Rex are both great suggestions for enjoyment with the 6 year old. You may also want to think about Le Cellier in Epcot. The steaks were delicious! Whispering Canyon Cafe will not disappoint and your grandson will have fun. Enjoy your trip!
