ADR @ Boma

Hi everyone!

I've got an upcoming ADR at Boma for 5:30pm on a Saturday night.

Can anyone tell me how busy the restaurant usually is at this hour?

If I show up around 5:15pm will I have to wait a long time to get seated there (ie does the restaurant get crowded right at 5pm when it opens)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

On a related note re Boma:

Our plane will land at MCO at noon. I figure we'll be checked in and at a park by 3:00. Our first park will be AK with dinner at Boma.

That is an EMH night for Animal Kingdom.

What schedule would you recommend for getting to dinner, then getting wristbands? AK closes at 5:00 that night.

Our preference would probably be as early a dinner as possible. Our plane leaves KC at 5:50 AM, so we will have been up since around 3 AM, and will be ready for a decent meal.

Thanks in advance to all you seasoned travelers.

First things first, I wouldn't bank on arriving at 3:00... I have made plans like that, only to have them fall apart due to all kinds of airport-related delays!!

So, my suggestion would be to make ressies for Boma for 5:30, head to the AK before that time to pick up your bracelets (whatever time that winds up being for you) and then head over to the AKL for dinner.

I'd grab a light snack when I arrived, stay at AK until after EMH are over, then eat at Boma. So that would make your reservations around 8 or 8:30pm. Still getting to bed at an early hour (hey! 11 IS early at WDW!! )

When we ate at Jiko around the same time it wasn't busy, I think the resort resturants tend to not be as crowded as the park resturants (but that's what I've noticed and that's just me, I'm not an expert!) GOod luck:lol:

I would definitely do it this way, because some of the things close early at AK, even though it is emh, like the Safari closes at sundown.

Boma has been an absolute madhouse every time I've eaten there (and every night when I stayed at the AKL), so I wouldn't bank on it!

And I would agree to stay at AK until after EMH are over... Unless you like to eat early and walk dinner off (that's what DH and I like to do). And, believe me, after Boma, you're going to NEED to walk it off!!!
