Adding a night

We are trying to find a flight with decent times and there aren't many left to choose from for January 3rd 2014. We were hoping to have a half day at MK after we fly in, but the earliest we can get there based on what we have found is 3:30pm, by the time we get off the flight and hoping for no delays we probably wouldnt get to the park til 6 or 7! How hard would it be to just add a night to our stay, so say if we flew to MCO at 8pm on the 2nd and just went stayed the night and started a full day on the 3rd? I tried to do the chat online with a cast member but the wait time is 40 minutes so I thought I would come to you guys!
We are staying at all star movie so it would be worth the 100 bucks for an extra night to not have to pay an extra 200 for each of us for an early flight.

You really have to ask people on this site if you should add a night? Of course add a night. Try calling the reservation line and talking to them. I would even stay at a different resort for the first night if I had to just to be there early in the morning.

Funny you mentioned that because I called to add a one day at the beginning and one day at the end of my stay just so I could get cheaper flights. I love flying on Wednesdays, cheapest day of the week!

Not sure what resort you are staying at for your trip, but if you are just looking to get in the evening before, I would recommend just booking a one night stay at one of the values with no ticket package. Then you can just go to DTD and hang out and not have paid an arm and a leg for an extra night at say a Deluxe. then just switch resorts in the morning and be on your way.

We did that on our last vacation. My friend and her sister had their room and my daughter and I had ours. We went down a day earlier and booked one room for the four of us for the night. It was worth it since our plane was delayed 5 hours! Since it only interfered with a bonus day it was so much easier to deal with.

Got everything figured out, an extra day before and saved ourselves about 200 bucks or more in plane tickets. I have to say this is going to work out perfectly, a day to travel and if there is any delays we can handle that and we fly into texas so snow shouldn't be a huge problem like I thought it would if we flew into Chicago. We went through a website called "student universe" and used out student IDs from UNL and got our tickets for 235 a person... DIRT CHEAP. Thanks for everyones input and help!

i know you have it all worked out now, but just an opinion for next trip. we have started flying in on friday nights for our saturday trips for several reasons, not the least of which is that it is $150 per ticket cheaper.
we stay at the hyatt in the orlando airport. we get in at 11 pm, take sleeping kids right to hotel room without waking them and THE HOTEL picks up your luggage for you so you don't have to wait there.
We have found it more refreshing not to have to get our luggage, get in a car and drive all the way to WDW and check in late at night. Right to your room- to bed- and up for an early start in the AM- while saving money.
The hotel is great. you watch planes landing and taxi-ing from your room, or you can have a room overlooking the main terminal. they have an outdoor pool on the roof where you can watch planes taking off. if you are not in love with the extra night you booked at WDW, consider switching to here, we are so happy with it.

We were actually thinking about doing that, but in the end decided we may as well just make the trek to WDW and sleep there. That is a great idea for when my fiance do end up having kids though, I can imagine traveling with little ones is a lot of work and at 11pm another hour or more of traveling would be to much! Thanks for the advice!
