Adding a day to a Park Ticket

Our local Disney store sells 5 and 7 day park hopper tickets. We would need a six day park hopper for our upcoming trip and don't want to purchase the 7 day and waste the extra day and money. Would it be possible to purchase the 5 day tickets here at home (we're in Toronto, Ontario) and have Disney add a 6th day to the ticket when we arrived at Port Orleans French Quarter or at the first park we visit? I don't mind if we have to do it at the first park we go to, that doesn't bother me, I just want to know if it can be done.

Yes . You can add a day to a ticket without much trouble at all. I am not sure if you can do it at your resort but I know you can do it at the parks.

Thanks. We're looking to book room only (hopefully with a discount) and we want to purchase our tickets at home before we go but our Disney store only sells 5 and 7 day tickets. Good to know we can get the 5 day tickets and add a day.

Yes, you can add that day for only $3 + tax. You can do it at any time during your trip. You don't need to do it on your first day. You could even do it after you've used up the rest of the ticket first. As long as the upgrade is done within 14 days of the first use of the ticket, you're good. [Note that I said 14 days after the ticket's first use, not 14 days after you bought it ... don't panic! :) ]

Technically, the front desk at your resort can't do it. But every WDW resort has a desk near or adjacent to the front desk called the Lobby Concierge desk. THIS is the place where you'd complete your upgrade.

You can also do it at any theme park or water park, at the ticket booths at the Transportation & Ticket Center, or at Downtown Disney's Guest Relations.

Or you could just buy a 7 day pass before you leave home and not have to deal with getting any changes done while you're on vacation. It costs $3 more than a six day pass.

The whole idea was to not get more than we need and not spend more than we have to. Buying the 7 day ticket is more than we need and it defeats the purpose of not spending more than we have to. We'd be wasting money on a ticket that we are not going to use completely and we'd be wasting a day's ticket because we'd only need 6 days, not 7. I make less money in my present job than I did in my old job, I don't have the money to throw away on wasted ticket days especially since I have to look at the fact that I have to pay an exchange rate to purchase my tickets and my vacation.

It was just a suggestion.

Who knows, maybe your flight gets delayed coming back and you can swing an extra day, maybe you arrive late in the afternoon on Day 1 and hadn't planned on using a day on your pass since it's so late in the day...this way you could. Maybe your return flight is at noon and you're dying to ride "It's a Small world" just one more time. Maybe your time on vacation is worth more to you than $3 even if it as easy as others are saying to add another day once you're on site.

My point was...it's 3 dollars for peace of mind and potential flexibility of your plans.

And you're talking to a fellow Canadian...are you really trying to tell me the potential exchange rate on $3 has you concerned?
