Acne Scarring and Disney Face Characters

Hi everyone! I'm new here, so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong thread and/or this question has already been answered; I figured I would just give it a go, however...

Alright so I'm very much interested in auditioning for a face character at Disney, but I have some acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks/jawline. My face looks fine when I wear makeup (and you cannot tell that there is acne scarring, unless you are close to me), but it looks as if I have freckles underneath the makeup due to the scarring (and there are indentations). Does this basically exclude me from ever wanting to get a position as a Disney face character? Should I even bother going to auditions since I have acne scarring and they will automatically exclude me because I don't have "flawless skin?" It really bums me out because I feel like I could make a good character, but the scarring is definitely a setback.

Also, would they judge this based on if I wanted a role in a fur costume?

Thank you so much

The make-up artists are very good, and can accommodate quite a bit. If you meet all the other requirements of a specific face character, they will likely use make-up to take care of your skin issues.

As for fur, height is essentially the only physical requirement (except for extreme weight issues). Your skin doesn't matter at all.

You're going to need some good foundation and concealer which needs to be applied flawlessly. However bare in mind being a face character doesn't just require looking the part, you will also need to be the right height, good dancing ability, good at acting, put on voices and accents, ability to vocalise clearly, be able to improvise instantly, good with kids and adults, know your characters inside out, need to do perfect autographs, be able to sing, good memory to memorise lines and dances and so on. There is a lot more to it then people realise, it is very difficult job for low pay. You also have to stand out in the heat for long periods and must still look good so obvious signs of sweating and fatigue are a no no.

Another thing to know is that face characters must also play the fur characters too so you will need to prepare for that too.

Good luck.

You know, that's interesting. A couple of years ago, I had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. When the princesses came out to greet everyone, Snow White had a noticeable acne problem. Not awful, but noticeable, even under the makeup. She was still adorable though. :)

I'm not sure when you go, but could do chemical peels on the face. It helps with a lot of those issues, but there is down time. I also agree with the mac foundation and concealer. Mac can do a make over and show you how to apply it correctly.
