Accommodations for employees

Can a person who works for Disney in any capacity actually live on property? I love Fort Wilderness and I am curious. What if I work in the stables, could I then stay in Fort Wilderness in a tent, an RV, a cabin? Now, that would be ideal.

Cast members do get 60% off at resorts when they are staying. Not sure what constraints or limits are placed on this. I've seen Disney World travel shows where they interviewed people who would stay in their RV at Fort Wilderness for months at a time and basically lived there.

Does Joe Rohde live on property? I kind of doubt any CM's live at the resort (some magic would be spoiled if you see employees bringing in everyday necessities), but maybe close by for big managers?

I used to know an older couple who would come down for the Spring and work at Hollywood Studios and stay at Ft. Wilderness in their motor home. I've always heard that Disney limits resort stays to 6 months presumably so someone can't claim residency and vote. They also used to house the international CP's in the tree houses before they were remodeled again presumably international students couldn't claim residency.

Uh, according to the map on that listing this building in smack dab in the middle of the dry dock for the ferry boats. The address says "Windermere" but that isn't it. Odd.
Good catch. I saw Windermere, but was too distracted by the location to realize it didn't make sense, especially for the price.

Looks to be a mile or two north but still a great area if you solely work for Disney since it's very close. As is my location as well but I don't work for the mouse.

I'll mention it in passing, but 16 management families live on property in two private cul de sacs. One in the city of Bay Lake and one in the City of Lake Buena Vista. They're the ones who actually vote for changes, and of course always say yes when required.

Ah yes, voting yes due to being able to live on property. Disney Politics at it's best. ;)

The votes actually don't always go 100% as recommended by Disney. One key factor is that the cities do vote to give over most municipal power to RCID. This takes most decisions away from the mayor and the city itself and is combined with the existing powers already granted to RCID.
