Absolute CLUSTER getting RUNdisney shoes

You mean like people who pay $200 more for an xbox or wii so they don't have to wait in line?

Some people just have different priorities...

You should also note your patronizing a company that charges more for EVERYTHING because it has Disney on it... from hotels to clothes to toys..
I agree with this. I'm not going to judge someone on how they spend their money. I think it's pretty awful that people are scooping up the shoes and marking them up so much to take advantage of people that really want them. :(

I think I made that clear when I said, "To each his own", yes, those people are morons too.

Im not patronizing the Disney Company for pricing things the way they do, Im saying the consumer who pays $250 for a pair of shoes that retail for $109 in the stores is stupid and not a wise investment. The Disney Co. are geniuses. Slap their logo on a pile of dirt and someone will buy it. But seriously, I dont care, I just think it is a poor choice.

Did anyone see the NB line at the Disneyland expo last fall? Complete chaos.

Naw, if you want to spend $250 on $109 shoes, go for it. None of my business. But then I am in the Disney 1%. ;)

I wonder how many non-runners went to the expo just to buy the shoes for everyday use. NB should be the one opening that runners store in DTD, they'd be able to sell them year round.

Dont want to do that too fast. You still want the frenzy of "OMG, I got to have these, now... I mean now, and I have 1 opportunity!" instead of "Ahhh, they are at DTD, Ill get them next time"

It'd probably even out, if not be on the positive end, but it is would be positive for the books (money), they will do it. Dont worry. :D

Who knows? I've seen threads on other boards and comments on the Disney Parks Blog where people will ask if they have to be signed up for an event to get the shoes...and the expo is open to everyone...so it seems possible that a decent amount of people with the shoes aren't runners.

Personally I'm not sure I'd make the special trip to the expo if I didn't already need to go there for bib pick-up, but that's just me. :)

Nope just terrible new balance reservations that they don't enforce.

Interesting. When we were there Weds and Thurs, they definitely were enforcing the reservations. You had to check in with the NB staffer with the iPad, and they would then assign you to a NB staffer to assist you with the shoes. If you didn't have a staffer, then no one would let you get shoes. If you wanted to buy the water bottles, or other merch they had in there, you could help yourself, but with all the shoes backstage there was no way to get them.

That said, the lines were chaos. Closed by noon both days? Yikes.

My wife was able to get her shoes on Saturday. No stories of disaster.. just that they didn't have her size initially but found a pair.
