About Tower of Terror

The only similarity between these rides and Disney's is the name.
The Tower of Terror in Australia and the one in Brazil are merely clones, but taller, of Superman: the Escape at Six Flags Magic Mountain, an Intamin reverse freefall.

Really? I didn't know that, I couldn't find anything on the one they're building down here... Could you point me to where you read that? I'd like to take a look, was it in Portuguese? All I know is that the park's owner said it was "an elevator that drops, like at Disney, but ours is the tallest in the world".

And what's Intamin? Is it like Dr. Doom's? Cause we already have one like that, right here in Rio, but (personally) I think it's way better than Doom's because it goes up slowly and then falls all the way down pretty darn fast, while Doom's go up fast and comes down slowly... Actually I never figured out what was so FEARfull about the FEARfall...

Intamin is a ride manufactuer of rides. They made California Screamin'. Anyway, the people who did that also made reverse freefall and the elevator type drop systems.

Also, it does sound like a Demon Drop type attraction. Don't expect it to be themed nor very tall.

Maybe I spoke too soon.
I know that the Tower of Terror in Australia is an Intamin reverse freefall. Intamin is the manufacturer. See this page:

The Tower in Brazil is harder to pin down. I did see where it will cost about 3.8 million US dollars, compared to Disney's $110 million or so. Also, it looks like it may be a different kind of ride than the one in Australia. It seems to be a regular Intamin Freefall Tower, a type of ride that was very popular here some years ago. This page seems to discuss it, and has a photo of a Freefall Tower.

Anyway, it looks to be an Intamin ride, either a Freefall Tower or a Reverse Freefall Coaster.

Not being ablw to understand the language But from looking at the photo The 100 meter length may include the horizintal section of track as well as the vertical lift/drop section

Yep, that's it. Trust me on this.
Same park.
Same ride design (sorta)

Thanks TT, I don't know how I missed it... So Beto was full of baloney, he doesn't know what he's saying that has NOTHING to do with ToT.

Here, lemme help you out:

"Making people's nightmare about elevators coming true, the Free Fall is a seven-elevator ride - each one holds 4 people - which drop in free fall from a height equivalent to 18 stories. The sofisticated and cutting-edge system of brakes monitored by computers guarantees safety for the visitors and fills even the most fearfull with trust. The equipment, made by Intamin from Switzerland, hits 90 km/h and holds 1,100 people an hour."

Sorry, it's a BAD translation, but I guess you can get the idea...
