About closing the park when it's too full

When the parks are closed due to high attendance, does this shut out resort guests so that they can't enter? Is it "other" guests not residing at the park for their stay? Or, no more guests period?

Since we are going in June when school is out, I'm concerned that this might be a possibility for us to run into. If resort guests are not allowed in, what happens to ADRs that are scheduled?

A Phase 4 closing means the park is closed to all guests, period. The other 3 phases still allow resort guests. (If I'm wrong, someone correct me).

I think the only reason parks are reaching Phase 4 is because it's Easter week & there's a promotion going on. I don't think you will have to worry about a Phase 4 happening in June. It's very rare.

I wouldn't be to concerned about closings if I was you because they do not happen often. That said, they close the parks in phases. This is the different steps in a parks closure:

Phase 1: Guests with MYW base tickets, one day tickets, guests with no admission, and CMs using a main gate are turned around at the Auto Plaza.

Phase 2: Only resort guests, AP/PAP, Park Hoppers, guests re-entering the same park admitted, ONLY if using a taxi or resort transportation. (Auto Plaza is closed)

Phase 3: Only resort guests and AP/PAP admitted. (Only resort transportation)

Phase 4: Closed to all guests. (No incoming transportation)

As you can see, as long as you are a resort guest, you will be allowed in unless they reach phase 4 (which is RARE).

I think the recent Phase 4 closing at MK was also on a day when Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon were closed due to cold weather, which would also keep people out of the resort pools. Seems like the combination of spring recess, good deals, the weather, and the water park closings created a perfect storm for a Phase 4 closing at MK. As others have said, it seems like they are pretty rare.
