Asbestos is typically only removed when an building that has asbestos in it undergoes a major renovation as it is harmless until it becomes airborne. Like Jakeman stated, pretty much every building in WDW that had asbestos in it should have already had it removed.

Good chance that some places still have asbestos in them. I know some basement areas in universities still have asbestos covering water pipes, the only thing that happened was the universities covered all the asbestos with a special paint like stuff that was supposed to insure that no dust came from the wrapping.... I would be willing to bet that some areas that were never remodeled because they were only accessible by workers still have the asbestos in them.

So the Poly is now asbestos free?

Asbestos was removed from all the rooms back in 2002-2003 from the Polynesian but the Grerat Ceremonial House and the hallways of the Longhouses still have some fireproofing materials that have asbestos. It is not harmful to the guests but it will be removed with the new room design that started last week and whenever the GCH gets redone. That will be the last of what remains.

Asbestos is far more dangerous while it is being torn out than it is when it is just in the walls, protecting you.

When they take it out - that's when the little, damaging particles become airborne.
