>>>Now DreamWorks is taking the world of Shrek to television for the first time, with the announcement of an original animated Christmas special, Shrek the Halls. Set to premiere on ABC in December of 2007, the half-hour special will be in continuity with the film series, and follow the events of Shrek the Third. Most impressively, all of the major (and pricey) voice talent from the films have signed on to the special, including Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona), Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots).

Shrek the Halls will be directed by Gary Trousdale (Beauty & the Beast) and produced by Teresa Cheng (Madagascar) and Gina Shay (The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie).<<<

Does Hell has a tendancy to freeze over in Hollywood or what?

I can see Disney wanting to do this...

Shrek has been more popular than any other film that Disney has released in the past however many years it's been since Shrek first came out. We can argue about this till we're blue in the face, but he is probably the biggest animated thing that has occured in the recent animation history (Perhaps the past 6 or 7 years).

Putting Shrek on ABC will guarentee a huge draw of viewers...which will be good for the network and to be honest, I don't think that many people actually associate Disney with ABC, even though Disney owns ABC, I don't think the majority of people actually think about Disney when watching ABC shows.

I have a strong dislike of Shrek, but I do see this as a very positive thing for ABC.
