So they got the date wrong by 7 years, and the location wrong by 3 time zones away. It's safe to assume somebody at ABC News was drinking the good stuff when this was posted.

Regarding the photo, the entire internet was claiming it was from Friday night, so I'll cut them some slack on that front.

ABC. whether an affiliate station or not, you would think THEY would have got the location right...since ABC is owned by Disney and that should be common knowledge amongst those CAST MEMMERS?

No. Just no. The ABC network is owned by Disney. The affiliate stations are not (with very few exceptions). They're not Disney employees, cast members, or anything else. So save the facepalm for yourself.

ETA: And now that I look at the actual social media accounts, ABC News 24 is Australian. It's not even an affiliate of ABC. That earns a double facepalm.
