AAA question

Are the package prices for AAA better than the Disney package prices? If there is a savings, can you book AAA without being a member or do you have to join? Does paying to join if you are not already a member cancel out any savings?

AAA does provide discounts but not as much as Passholder or Florida Resident Rates. When making your reservation, you are required to give your AAA membership info so you must be a AAA member. I booked my trip in 3 weeks using the AAA discount since there are no moderate resort discounts being offered in June. The AAA discount saved me around $40/night. To be honest, that's almost as good as the Passholder discount July & August. I'm going again in August, and my Passholder discount only saved me another $15/night above and beyond the AAA discount.

I hope this helps.

I book room only reservations when we go and I joined AAA this winter and added it to our reservation and for our time in Dec. it is a 20% discount at POP for 6 nights and it saved me over $100. Since my membership was only like $57, it was worth it. Especially with with the other discounts you can get with AAA. I bought our park tickets last visit at a AAA office with my dad's membership and saved a significant enough amount them. I plan to do the same this time. AAA also offers other discount on many other things that could also make it worth while.

AAA parking is great

I think one of the best things you get by going through AAA is the AAA diamond parking pass, if you will have a car available. You still have to pay for parking unless you a re staying at a disney resort, but it is a designated section of parking right next to the handicapped section. So there is never a need to get on the parking lot tram or walk very far to the entrance.

Is this a pass they send with your vouchers just before your trip? I don't remember receiving this last November. We're driving down, and will probably drive to AK and possibly the Studios as well.

Do you just show your AAA membership card to get to park there??

We got that pass just for buying our tickets from AAA. It does come in handy!

Also many of the WDW tours give you a discount with AAA. I saved quite a bit last year booking the Segway tours that way.

Our local AAA office was stingy with the parking passes. They would only give them out with room/ticket packages. :zipit:

But then I went ahead and parked in AAA parking anyway and left my membership card on the dash. No one bothered my car.

Here's a tip, though: Plastic cards wrinkle up in the hot Florida sun! :hammer:
