I agree. Shut it down. Politics and Disney should be associated with one another.

Move on ;)

Have you missed a 'nt or are you playing devils advocate?
If you pursue this action to its purest form then discussions about the proposed rail links would also be banned.

To quote that old Scottish rocker Fish,

" in a wilderness of mirrors, not even our speech is free"

Just in case we have a code turquoise I’m sat here with my battle bowler and body armour on, and my rubber face is close by. You never know when these devils may release a cloud of highly toxic curry sauce

Before This Gets Shut Down...

I hope everyone has taken time to read the posts from members of our military, encouraging us to go about our business (and pleasure) just like normal. Our men and women in the armed forces are putting their lives on the line to defend our way of life (we'll see their courage, determination and strength demonstrated in a few days). How does it look if we then shiver in fear, cancelling our trips?

(Of course, part of me hopes the parks won't be crowded when I go in May... but that's kind of selfish thinking! )

As for the political discussion... the time for debate is over. The war will soon be over too... just watch. In the meantime, pray for the safe return of all our troops and book your trip to Disney.

I don't think we need to shut this one down. People on this forum say nastier things about Epcot than Iraq and would rather have the coalition prevent a remake of Country Bear Jamboree than attack Saddam.

...

Whether at home or at DW or wherever we need to pray for our military and the innocents of Iraq.

Shut it Down?

I think people are holding down their thoughts and this has become a good conversation. I think that the people of this forum know when to stop and they are doing that. Let's just discuss the topic at hand, I think it's under control.

I know that we are still planning on going on our trips to WDW. I'm actually excited. I want to be able to relax. And WDW is the only place I can go to do that. Where I can be in my own world. Not sayin that when I'm in the hotel room, I won't watch CNN. hehe, but our plans are still on :D

I feel the same way. I am hoping to scrape together enough cash just to prove a point and help the economy. But I'll stick with Fox news in the room, CNN is waaaaay to liberal for me.

I was @ WDW during Desert Storm, but I really don't remember it being anything different from the way it usually is.

Thank You to all of you who are *trying* to keep this thread on topic. (hint hint)

I know that we all agree that we do not want to see hours cut back or for attendance to drop. That would mean CM's will be let go and that the WDW magic will be stifled.

When this war commences, we'll just need to keep our fingers crossed for a positive turn out at the resort, and that everything turns out okay and QUICKLY.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

:D

I went to Disney the week after 9/11 and just from that changes were major. Many of the stands were closed, restaurants cut way back {like thanks for telling us! I went to Tony's at 8 am thinking I would be there for my PS and they had closed until 9:30} the bathrooms for the first time I can ever remember were dirty, out of soap, towels...
Our last trip in Dec. things were much better. Let's just hope things won't turn back!

I went the week after too, Sept. 19th, and I do remember some things cut back...like park hours, shows. I will say this...the parks were EMPTY, no crowds at ALL! I may experience that again since I'm going down March 30th. I know it sounds selfish, but I hope I can still go...Disney will be the only thing that will keep me smiling during this uneasy time.

"I realize that Sadaam did not cause 9/11 and we are tracking our good friend Osama as we speak"
Did you know Sa-damm (damm, damm, damm) has and still does pay every palestinian suiside bomber in Israel 15,000$.

I really thing he should go as a good sign for all the rest of arabian dictatorships (including honey Osamas sponser Saudia) that passing money for terorism canno't be tolarated.

You americans are funny, every new-Yorker now supports the war, but most Californians don't, your country is so big, that you cannot even be empathik unlless the terror hits in your personal back yard (or state).

the only way vision like the one in Horizons Rip can be true future is if dictators like Sa-Damm will find their way to historys gutter.

I thought it was very valid since he, more than anyone here (besides Kicker, I think), has more to say about the effects of this war on everyday's life.

This war is taking more of a mental toll on me then anything because it will directly affect where I go after my training. Hopefully it will be over before I even get the orders sending me over-seas and that I am just part of the re-building process (which will probably be harder then the actual fighting). Rumors are flying that my post will be put on ThreatCon-Delta once the fighting starts, which means nothing gets on post, and nothing goes off. That sucks major because my girlfriend is suppose to come up this weekend. That is what I am mostly concerned about... more stress.
