Well guess who has a four day weekend? This guy!

The catch it's brought to me by Mathew, which even though I'm in the Tropical Storm watch area of Florida is still dangerous. However less so now. Best of wishes to those that will be in Hurricane watch zone.

Now in the meantime I'm going to argue with my friends about how having the hurricane hit directly is way worse. Like its much more likely to lose power, its much more dangerous, etc.

How is that an argument? :p
How am I supposed to know :cyclops:

They refuse to believe me, then I made up some BS that sound legit. If the storm decimates our school we'll be set to our homeschools. I can guarantee if the hurricane came, my school won't have power. For being built seven years ago is sure not ready for a hurricane. I mean honestly they built the power lines using the wooden poles!

Of course then some of my friends were glad to be able to go to their home school.

Hurricane Andrew - now this is something you don't want to see again. And yes, this is way worse:facepalm:

Oh trust me I know, although back then there wasn't any true dangerous hurricane. My parents put up some wood on their windows, and put their new TV in the bathtub on the second floor. Of course many things happened. First of all the the roofing was ripped off, and the ceiling broke, covering the TV in water. My dad's car? A piece of scrap metal thanks to a lovely tree. And the kitchen had an unwelcome visitor in the form of a pine tree, I mean he should've at least asked

In general my family was lucky to get out of Andrew unscathed. My grandparents almost didn't make it as they were panning to drive home from my aunt's after dinner. Of course when the rain began to pour, and the wind whipped, everyone ran outside to move in the plants and put up the shutters.

Also I need to remind myself to bring in the plants. After I finish my homework :(

If another storm like Andrew comes to Florida, I'm getting the hell out of here. Maybe Kansas? A hurricane couldn't travel that far, right?

My parents were down there during Andrew, had to evacuate.

We also had to evacuate for Katrina and were in Disney for that span from 04-05 were there were just a ton of Hurricanes in Florida:hungover:

Half my school didn't show up today because of clown threats. The same people won't show up tomorrow because they're "preparing" for the hurricane.
I'm planning to leave early to help my grandparents move their potted plants, outdoor furniture etc. Also putting my TV in multiple towels and trash bags. I don't trust my apartment's ceilings :p. I also convinced my mother to stay at the grandparents during the storm since they live in an actual house, and have a gas stove so nice hot meals.

The day the clown comes I'll have something very scary for him/her. A mirror, to let him/her see where his/her life decisions have led him. If that doesn't stop him/her nothing will. :D:cool:

Well apparently my friend lied to me
School is still in session for Miami-Dade for the rest of the week. Except for activities after school on Wednesday. :cyclops:

Fudging Miami, ruining my life :banghead::rolleyes::p
Just tell me if I need to go to school and risk my life, or not already!

Miami-Dade just announced that school is cancelled for the rest of the week.

Another thing I found out about the storm via school, some of the trackers are forecasting Mathew to make a uturn and come back to Florida for a reprise. :cyclops: Why is that even being considered, the likelihood of that happening is the same as a Category 1 turning into a Category 5 in less than 2 - never mind....

A Tip for Hurricane Prep: If the last major hurricane was eleven years ago, its best to check up on your shutters and make sure they're not rusty/rusting. Not saying that mine are, when I helped put on the windows, but...they are. Don't think it'll have much effect though, as it wasn't rusted all the way through.

Ours were so difficult to get on. The screws barely fit into the slot, but we got most of them. Stay safe!
