As of today - September 30 - there is a new record for the number of rain days in September - a total of 23. The old record of 22 was set exactly 100 years ago in 1914.

Generally - these rains have not been the one hour or half hour variety. This has been half day or all day or all night downpours.

Every swale or depression or roadside ditch is a new wetland. If this doesn't recharge the Everglades, nothing will.

Enjoy.

Excuse my math but wouldn't a hundred years ago be 1914?

"Each one of us is a cause of global warming, but each one of us can make choices to change that with the things we buy, the electricity we use, the cars we drive; we can make choices to bring our individual carbon emissions to zero. The solutions are in our hands, we just have to have the determination to make it happen. We have everything that we need to reduce carbon emissions, everything but political will. But in America, the will to act is a renewable resource."

As I recall, last September 2013 was quite rainy and stormy as well. It's still hurricane season too remember.;)

But nothing like we have been having. OIA has rained 26 of the last 30 days. We now have an excess of 11" of rain of what is normally expected and it is 18" in Daytona Beach area.

We've been coming to Fl every September for the past 5 years, and this is by far the rainiest we've ever seen it here at this time. We're staying in Bradenton and we've had serious downpours throughout the day and night every day since we've been here. The roads to the beaches on Anna Maria Island were flooded the other day when we went there and the hiking trails and picnic areas at Myakka River State Park were under 2 or 3 inches of water

In spite of my soggy sock, it's t wonderful. We haven't seen the vegetation in such good shape for 4 years. It is marshland after all. Such rain that the lovebugs can'tswarm.

Friends just left WDW and were posting to us about the wet time they were having. Wet but still able to have a blast. For a brief moment I thought.... gee, maybe it's a good thing we didnt go... but then I thought... HECK NO. Even a wet day at Disney's better than any other day here.
