A strange question

I have a fun idea for the Tower of Terror. I wanted to take a sign in a backpack to the ride and bring it out for the picture at the top while I have a surprised expression on my face, you know, like Wile E. Coyote when he falls off a cliff in the old cartoons. It wouldn't have anything inappropriate on it; just something like "yikes" or "uh-oh". Would Disney let you do something like that, or do they not take kindly to such shenanigans? I wouldn't disrupt the ride for anyone else, but that would be a picture I'd love to have.

What would this sign be made of? Would it pose a safety hazard to others if you lost control of it?

I'd have a t-shirt made and wear it.

I don't think they could really do anything about it as long as it isn't crude or anything. I've seen people do similar things on other rides (the checkerboard photos). Plus you'd have to sit in the back of the elevator because I'd think other guests wouldn't like if their face was covered up in the photo.

That would be pretty funny. If you sat in the front row and held it in front of you instead of above you it wouldn't block anyone, or like someone else said, sit in the back and hold it above you. I don't think if it was a "clean" message that Disney would terminate the picture.

I remember seeing photos on this site, of this sort of thing being done before. If I remember correctly, they don't have a problem with it as long as it's not dangerous. Mind you, things may well have changed since then.

For ToT's birthday, I printed out signs with the numbers 1-13 printed on them, and held one up for each of the 13 rides we did. No one said anything, and we even bought the 13th ride's photo and the CM ringing us up thought it was hilarious. I never held them up so they would hide someone's face or disrupt anyone else's ride - if you did the same, I'm sure you would be fine.

Sounds like a construction paper sign would be alright. If I was in front, I'd hold it at my chest because, again, I don't want to disrupt anybody.

blank sign

You could hold up a blank sign and overlay the various text ideas you would like to later with simple photo editing software.

Sorry to say that if you were to take a sign into the ride and get it in the picture, the entire photo would be removed. I currently work at one of the attraction photo stores at Disney and we have to remove the pictures that have any sort of signage.

Sorry can i just ask then, how did the guests with the chess\checkerboard, get away with what they did?

That would be awesome, but you'd have to do it just like Wile E. Coyote and use a dark brown flat peice of wood and white paper so it would look just like the cartoons. haha That would be awesome.
