Trip Report A Salute to All Nations, but Mostly America

Hey everyone! @blgauger and I are about to begin our Memorial Day tour of Walt Disney World, and since she is behind on her own report (;)) I'm taking over the reporting for the day (and maybe longer, you never know)
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Brooke. Brittany and I met through this forum when we found out we would be teaching together, and now we hang out at Disney whenever we aren't at school. We've got lots of Disney adventures planned this summer (including a BTMRR challenge with @Tuvalu and @Longers ) so stay tuned!

We braved the rain and headed to MK yesterday evening to meet up with a friend of mine. Despite the torrential downpour, wait times were still pretty high.

Our first stop was the People Mover. We thought we might get evacuated, but no such luck. They turned the lights on and everything!

Then we headed for Dumbo in hopes that we’d get a good view of the beautiful post-rain sky. The wait was a little longer than anticipated, but still a good ride!

Little Mermaid was down, so we decided to just go get a snack instead and find a spot for fireworks. Dylan joined us while we wired for our ice cream. The Plaza took a lot longer than we planned (not sure why that surprised us) so we were walking out the door as fireworks started and then got pushed along by cast members until we were almost to Tomorrowland.

Not the best location, but we enjoyed the show and our treats anyways (Kitchen Sink for Dylan and Brittany, brownie Sundae for me)

I love this because @blgauger was sooo excited about her sundae and Dylan was just along for the ride.

Then we headed to BTMRR for ride 3 of the summer. We did Pirates and then headed out, but not before filling the kitchen sink with buttons.

One of the benefits of living here is the chance it gives you to make cool Disney connections. I have a friend who is friends with Chip in the BATB show, so she got us VIP seats for the last show of the day

@Doc Disney I will be there with my family July 14-22! I already told @blgauger we need to meet up. I hope we can work it out so we can finally meet too! I’d also love to meet @wishes2013 ! I am a fellow teacher so we can talk teaching and Disney!

We watched BATB from our wonderful seats, then we headed for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Can we all agree that this needs a major overhaul?

Also, @blgauger and I do not remember getting as wet as we did this time. There were multiple occasions where there was lots of water coming from the ceiling. It was weird and kind of annoying.
We walked through One Man’s Dream and then we caught the Frozen show. I love this. Our historians were hilarious, but the real entertainment was the little girl who was maybe 3 sitting next to us. She knew every word and dance move to Let it Go, hair flips, body rolls, everything :joyfull:

We got pizza from Catalina Eddies (a kids meal with purse carrots @Tuvalu ) and discussed how the park will look once Toy Story Land and Star Wars opens.

We decided to walk over and look at the walls to see if we can get a better idea of how the park will look. We had no such luck. We did see someone’s little addition to the wall though...

Haha, we don’t actually get to do many crafts with our students, even in first grade. We make up for it outside of school though! :)

Teach me your ways, Yoda!!! We made ears for our Disneyland Paris trip in October, but most of them didn't look this good. There's definitely a learning curve. We're going to try again for our WDW trip in July 2019 now that we've learned a few tricks.
