Trip Report A New Hope, A New Day *COMPLETED*

That’s not a Star Wars reference.

Longtime readers of my trip reports know Star Wars isn’t my thing (although I immensely enjoy Rise of the Resistance.)

Fireworks are my thing. Like a moth to a flame, I am instinctively drawn to bursts of brilliant sparkles and colors in the sky. Just ask my family how quickly I’ve stopped whatever I’m doing to find the source of nighttime booms! I have serious fireworks FOMO.

Disney fireworks....especially Magic Kingdom fireworks....always flood me with nostalgia, happy memories and hope. After a long pandemic year, I know I am not alone in my yearning for hope of better days ahead.

The return of Disney fireworks, for me, is a sign that things are improving. Hooray!!

But there won’t be any pyro on my upcoming trip. And that’s ok. This vacation was booked with the assumption there would be no nighttime entertainment. (However when rumors began to suggest fireworks in July…..well let’s just say there might be another reservation in MDE for us.)

Who’s us?

Mother/daughter travel buddies, Tuvalu and Em. We last visited together in early April. We were there the day the mask mandate was dropped for stationary pictures.

Today the mask mandate for all those vaccinated has been suspended and we couldn’t be happier! We won’t have to be shrouded in a daft disguise again this summer!

I am not planning to do a full live report but may post a daily update. I’ll fill in the details when our vacation is over.

So I'm late. Like super late. Between vacation last week, and attempting to pack to move and catch up on work, I've been MIA. But I'll catch up!

We'll be there Sept 10 - 18! I know you don't do the DW in September.

Of course, @Tuvalu said she had no plans for July either, because of how hot it always is, but FIREWORKS!....so someday, you might see @Tuvalu in Sept!!!

It actually has cooled things down. A pleasant surprise. There’s been a breeze most times.

You're right! Rain or shine what better place to be!!??

Are there normally this amount of showers this time of year?

Summer is the rainy season. We’ve encountered tropical storms on our trips in June and pre-hurricane weather in August. We seem to have better luck in July, though one year it rained all day, every day.

The urban legend of “it rains in Florida every afternoon for a half hour and then stops” simply isn’t true.

Highlights and lowlights from our sixth day.

We love us a Magic Kingdom morning!

First stop was to see the new additions to Jungle Cruise.

And the rain rain rain came down down down….

Oh wait a minute. That’s the backside of water.

Can I get a Hallelujah? Plexiglass dividers are GONE from the Pirates queue!!

Oh @Longers ~ Guess who had the last car on BTMRR?

One park wasn’t enough for us today.

But know what was too much?

Em’s ginormous salad bowl serving of a No Way José.

I would be remiss if I didn’t post the usual end-of-day pic.

Once again, thunderstorms put a damper on our evening plans.

Does Em agree that the sundae's are simply more fun in a goblet? I mean, I'll take the ice cream any day but the goblets make it more special/fancy etc.
