A new disney hotel in.. kansas city?

If nothing else, it's fun to see all of the KC people on here.

I agree that the thought of Disney putting a hotel into the Legends development (or anywhere else in this area) is wishful thinking. While I would love to have Disney in my backyard, I can't imagine our fair town would hold much appeal. We simply don't have the year-round weather or the tourist draw to sustain it.

This wont happen. They keep passing up on NYC which has 2 of their plays (soon to have a third in newsies) and is a disney cruise port. Why would they build in Kansas city ?

thanks for all the input

i know the odds are astronomical i just passed it on since it's a rumor i'd love to see come true.

also didn't know if anyone had input on my second question... has disney announced anything cool in the past at these meetings?

Not usually. I believe Eisner accidentally let it slip that they would be building the Forbidden Mountain (later remained Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain) at one of these meetings or on one of the financial earnings conference calls.

I remember a few years ago they showed off carsland concept art or something like that. I don't think they've ever announced something major at the stockholder meetings. They typically just elaborate on or hint at something.

I wouldn't read much into their location. Except for the fact that they like having the meetings in random out of the way places, to cut down on the number of shareholders that actually show up. If they held them at WDW or DLR, people would build trips around it. But by having it in in KC, not may smaller Disney stockholders have a reason to make the trip. It helps to cut down on the number of people who would make a stink or ask any hardball questions to management. Your big shareholders may still very well show up, but they are more interested in owning Disney stock to turn a profit, and not because of any emotional ties to owning a small part of the Disney magic.
