Hi all.

I have a question/discussion point for you. We are visiting Sept/Oct and I would like to know what is the one thing you must do at WDW.

1 - What Ride?

2 - What Show?

3 - What Restaurant?

4 - What Parade?

5 - What Fireworks?

If you can think of any others then please add them

1. Splash Mountain

2. Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic! (Often do them on the same night)

3. Table Service: BOMA, Quick Service: Pecos Bill

4. Disney's Electrical Parade (or SpectroMagic)

5. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
This would have been easier to answer if I had known the make up of your travelling group. Kids/no kids? Ages? Number of people? Number of days in parks?
That being said, here is my list:

Ride: MK-Splash Mountain. Epcot-Soarin'. DHS-Tower of Terror. DAK-Expedition Everest
Show: MK-Philharmagic. Epcot-The American Adventure (American Pavilion/WS). DHS-Voyage of the Little Mermaid. DAK-Haven't seen any of them.
Restaurant: Sit down-Le Cellier (Canada/WS), 'Ohana (Polynesian). Buffet: Cape May Cafe (Beach Club Resort). Quick Service: MK-Columbia Harbor House. Epcot-Sunshine Seasons. DHS-Starring Rolls Cafe. DAK-We always vacate by 1:00, so I have never eaten here. DTD-Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express.
Parade: Not a fan of afternoon parades. LOVE LOVE LOVE Spectromagic, so I guess my recommendation would be MSEP.
Fireworks: Wishes or Illuminations. Fantasmic! Is a distant second choice.

I would also recommend:
Jellyrolls in the Boardwalk for after hours entertainment.
Resort visiting - The Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge are all must sees.
Alternate forms of transportation - the boat ride from DTD to POR/POFQ is lovely, as is the boat ride to WL.
Catch the Electrical Water Pageant if you can.
Watch Wishes from the Polynesian beach at least once.

Have a wonderful, magical time.
