Trip Report A move to Jacksonville, and a trip to Disney

Well, I'm quite a bit late with this one. The move occurred back in July. We actually visited in August as well with airfare so low, but I didn't take any pictures on that trip knowing that I had these stored. My daughter was leaving home and taking her first speech therapy position at a Jacksonville school district. My wife, nephew, and daughter drove her stuff down and I flew down two days later. My wife and I stayed at my daughter's apartment.
She had the couch, and I had the air mattress with this little guy, Bean.

Feeling good, actually slightly buzzed, we headed over to Star Wars and then we figured we'll hit Muppets 3D and it should be time for dinner. I finally caved in and was a pilot. I've seen my wife and daughter fail miserably at it so it was time for me.

OK. Go back to our very first post. Remember the little guy sitting on my air mattress ? What was his name ? BEAN. All of our dogs have Disney character names, Belle, Buzz, and Bean. This is Bean's namesake who is my daughter's dog. She named him. He's the runt of the litter; just like Bean.

We usually stop by the Christmas Shoppe by Mama Melrose's and get our annual ornament for the calendar year. Unfortunately, they were closed. Took this picture in July. Now we're only a month away; how time flies.

We had our dinner right before the park closing. So when we were exiting, it was barren.

We got back to OKW, and had a few more drinks. We were checking out the next day, and squeezing in an Epcot day. Goodbye OKW. Hope to return soon and pandemic-free.

We arrived at Epcot right for the opening. It was hot and humid. It usually doesn't bother me too much but that day was excessive. We only spent about 3 hours out in that sun. It was so hot that we barely ate anything at Food and Wine. First stop, Soarin'.

The Food Court was empty.

We dipped into the World Showcase for the air conditioning. While enjoying that conditioned air we had some mac and cheese, charcuterie, and a few fine beers. I remember being in there last time we were at Epcot. All the tables were full and the line queues snaked through the belt barriers.

Hello ladies ! And you too Pluto and Goofy. What is Goofy ?

We really wanted to jump in. The "feels like" temperature was 105.

We really like the architecture in all of the countries. Disney did a great job of capturing the culture and uniqueness of each country.

We loved these guys. They were like the Mexican version of Kool and the Gang. I just aged myself.....

We had to stop by Hops and Barley. Lobster roll, southern seafood boil, and carrot cake with cream cheese icing. We had
a visitor who wanted a plate of his own.....

Way too hot for many to be out. I felt very safe with these crowd levels.

No one wants to bring their toddler out in this heat. This army of Disney strollers sat silent.

That's it ! We did make an August and September trip, but I wasn't going to take any pictures knowing that I had this trove of pics to arrange and post. Maybe we'll be back in late January or early February. Depends on the airfare. We paid $58 round trip for this July trip.

We got out of Epcot in around 3 hours. Didn't do much eating or drinking; it was way too hot. At least we got to the kennel in Kissimmee earlier than expected and got Bean ! Then we had a 2 1/2 hour drive back to Jacksonville.

That's Buzz. Another one of our tribe. Buzz is a very nervous, anxious dog who needs to be with people. Don't worry Buzz, we'll be home soon !
