 That's right by one of the Avacs...and it IS bad. When I did Custodial, though, I thought the worst was the back area by Pinnochio's Village Haus - ugh! I will ~never~ eat there after smelling their garbage (and the permanent grease smell), watching them clean at night...and the slippery, greasy pavement...mushrooms pieces...bits of used food..did I mention the grease?..:hurl:

I also hear that the Adventureland tunnel is bad, but I only had to go over there, like, twice...(But it wasn't pleasant)

On the other hand, the stairway near Casey's always smelled like fresh bread (they keep the hot dog buns in that area...or they did when I worked there)

the adv. tunnel is really bad on some days. the area we broke in behind pecos was NASSSSSSSTY! i almost busted my butt on the grease on the pavement several times behind tiki.

Yeah it is. I really hated it when it rained and that made it worse then when you had a black bag oy that made it worse...

Is there anyway I, a commoner, could gain access to the Utilidors(the "secret" tunnel underneath the MK)? If so, how? And if not could Someone post some pictures? Im sure it's not anything special but im just curious. Thanks in advance.

You can easily gain access to backstage by simply walking between two sections of privacy fence, or out the back door of a store or restaurant. Like they said, you're going to see the dumpster and loading dock area behind WalMart. It's literally NASTY.

If you were to take a tour and visit the tunnels, it will remind you a lot of the hallways in a large building that are still under construction: pipes, wires and ducts overhead; concrete floor; half-a$$ed painted walls and TONS of people and vehicles running around. Once you are exposed to any of that, the Magic Kingdom loses its magic, trust me.

I remember being rather disgusted at seeing the water "treatment" area for Splash Mountain during our tour. If you lose your hat on Splash Mt., you DON'T want it back.

I thought it was rather neat to see the Utilidors, and the garbage stench backstage made me appreciate all the hard work that CM's do each and every day to make WDW magical.

Well put, Pirate. Working backstage is like working at a landfill and a sewer treatment plant at the same time, all in 90 degree weather!

You're right about the Splash water - EW!
