A little nervous...

My husband and I are taking our 4 year old daughter to Disney on Dec. 2-9. We booked this way back at the beginning of the year. We decided to try and save a little money and booked All-Star Movies. I have been reading mixed reviews about Pop Warner week. My question is this...when should I inquire about a possible upgrade to a moderate? I noticed on the Disney reservations website that just about every resort seems to be booked. However, I do know that this does not necessarily mean that every room in the resort is occupied. Should I go ahead and call, wait until a day or two before we leave or wait until we get to check-in at All-Star Movies?

Call now! I tried to book those dates more than a month ago and could not get anything. I had to move my dates starting at 12/10 in order to get rooms. Good luck.

We will also be there Dec. 1-9th:xmas: ! I would call ASAP and if you don't have any luck keep calling everyday until you leave - you never know. Good luck and I hope you have a great trip.

Definitely call as soon as you can!!!! Between Pop Warner and the Mega Mouse meet, there isnt going to be much left at any resorts, much less alone the Moderates specifically!!!! Best of luck to you on switching!!! Belle

Ditto... & keep calling every day if you have to to find out if they have any cancellations.

Call ASAP... I waited too long and ended up missing out on upgrading.

They did however send some of the people over to the Coronado Springs last year because they were overbooked at the AS resorts. We weren't one of them but I did run into several people who it happened to.

I know what Pop Warner is but the Mega Mouse meet? Could you please explain. How does that affect the parks?

Upgrade if you can. The Pop Warner affects the hotels more than anything. But if you can't change, don't sweat it. Just ask for a room away from the teams, if possible. Either way, remember that you'll be at WDW, which is a pretty good thing no matter how you slice it.

If you can't upgrade... think of using the money to rent a car instead. (At least you will get the free resort parking) You will notice the kids the most on the busses... Also at the resorts too, but if you plan ahead like decide to eat away from the resort's food court it will help also. We did this mostly because we already had places picked to eat at other places.

The kids will be around and they will be up late and at the pools... Definately ask if you can get transferred - like they did for some last year and also ask to be away from the buildings where the kids will be. (not easy but possible...) If you get a car... get a room close to the parking - you will get around much better than the busses.

Also if you do upgrade... remember that they used the POR also last year for the teams.

The Drum Corps All Stars were at the All stars music also, but they were a small group compared and they left at 6 am and didn't get back until late and then spent Saturday taping the parade.

A car is a wonderful idea!!!! And as Tink said definitely make plans to eat elsewhere such as the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian to get some great adult time!!!! Great idea Tink!!!! Belle
