Yes, Heavyweight stock is it. :) We chose this invitation because I liked the sturdiness of it, and the pearlized border with the seashells and starfish were perfect. :)

Nice! Why does it come with so many other things? ;)

See if this link works: http://www.now-and-forever.com/orde...fm&vid=GDM1M15CW2&rand=154O414X3508&menu=none Never mind.... go to page 7...

I love these threads when I actually learn about costumes in other places! :)

Okay... you can tell I´m bored and not really in the mood to go out and buy a gift for my cousin´s bday, so.... I went and searched for a few of my friend´s invitations that I have saved and found a few that I really didn´t like and one that I like better than the others... here it is.

back of the envelope with the addresses of groom and bride´s houses to send the gifts to. You can tell... that wedding was in 1994! The paper is already yellow!

Yes, Maria, that is my style, too. Very simple and classic. Since we are having the reception and the ceremony in the same place, we won't need to use reception cards (saves me some money, anyway!). And I hate the thought of sending those darn response cards since I know they are expensive and hardly anyone sends them back!

True. I have my mixed feelings about those reception cards... You don´t usually have to send them back or show them at the reception either. Usually they come with the invitation and they only say "We would like you to join us for the reception after the ceremony at this X place". And they add as many people in your family is invited. If it´s just for me, for instance, they usually send two assuming I will bring a date and the envelope is addressed to me.
Also, in the envelope, it mostly goes adressed "Mr. (name of head of the family)" "and Family" or "and wife". Then you know who is invited and who isn´t. I like it better this way than stacking the invitations with many of those "personal" little cards. ;) I like better just like in your invitation, adding a note saying where the reception will be...

Something that I would like to do if I ever get married is having the "thank you cards" sent after I come back from honeymoon. Nobody does it here and I think it is extremely nice to send them and let people know where your new house is and that you thank them for the present they sent you. I gues nobody does it for two reasons: expensive cards and a hassle to send them again to everybody, and lack of time. Let´s see if I ever get to do it! :animwink:

Maria, the custom here is that there's an inner envelope that contains the actual invitation, and the names of those specifically invited go on that envelope (Mr. and Mrs. Maria, or Mr. Jose and Ms. Maria, etc). Reception cards are very formal, and generally used if the reception is not for all those invited to the ceremony or if the information doesn't fit on the envelope... And thank you notes are expected in most parts here, with a few months lag time still acceptable (but in many families, you are NOT on the happy list of you don't get them out!).
