Hey while I was at school today I thought of a new pavillion. I call it Time Will Tell. (yeh I know the name stinks) When you enter the pavillion you see a big clock that takes up the whole wall. (It actually works) The two main attractions would be The Timekeeper and Carosell of Progress. Scattered throughout the Pavillion would be so called "time machines". What would happen is you sit down and press a button of what year you want to go and then a little film plays about that year. There would also be a shop that only sold clocks, all kinds of clocks. Does anybody rember the name of the clock from Beauty and the Beast becase I want to name the shop after it. I can not think of what the exterior could look like, could some one give me any advice? I would draw drawings and post them but the problem is I can not draw. Now I know what you think the problem is that Spaceship Earth has to do with time sort of, but o well. Tell me what you think.

Thanks for your replies. I was thinking all sorts of clocks for the clock shop. There would be a course a lot of Disney type clocks.

I know i'm late, But I like this Idea :)
I'd like to see a new ride put in instead of Carousel though, put COP in the old 'Pasta Pizza' restraunt, and make it a sort of innoventions extention, and think up a new ride for the pavillion...Wow..Time...which side would it go on? The Industrial Left Side, or the more Natural Right side?

And what's wrong with just the name 'Time.' for the pavillion?

The Time Pavillion

Time is a powerful concept, it doesn't need a cute name

the power of time

I think it is a very interesting concept. When you think about it the passage of time affects nearly everything in our lives. It could really be a springboard for some new ideas. At Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry a relatively new exhibit is focused on time - more so on clocks and time devices, but it is obviously a subject that interests people none the less.

I think the bes ideas that could be incorporated into such a pavilion would be things that never go outdated. As much as I love the Carousel of Progress, attractions like that need updating when another twenty years comes along. If an attraction were to focus simply on the idea of time and how it is important, it could last for a much longer time.

Interesting concept though!

I tried coming up with a whole park called Time Kingdom the problem is the park is too general so I started a new one, a secret one that is almost finished being developed.

I like the idea. It is a simple and easy way to keep timekeeper and COP. The rides might even be more popular at Epcot due to there being less big rides.

By the way the clock's name from Beauty and the Beast is Cogsworth.

I think it would fit in better in Innoventions-where the old pizza reseraunt was.
The odessy building should be turned into an extension of TT, so they can call it World Of Motion again, and revive the old symbols..then, Test Track would just be a ride inside World Of Motion, much the same way HISTA is a ride inside IMAGINATION!

I like the idea, only I prefer the name Chronos Pavillion. Time Pavillion is a good name, but I think just Time isnt eye catching enough to get people to go. And instead of a clock being the centerpiece, have it be an large hourglass. You can then make the main part of the building completely round and put a working clock face on the CEILING!

I also dont think that CoP would work in the pavillion. Timekeeper would be perfect if they updated it and maybe turned it into a sit-down attraction. I love Circle-Vision, but some of them are too long. Timekeeper as it is is one of them.

You can also have Father Time do an educational show, along the lines of tMoM in Wonders of Life. As a thrill ride, you can build something along the lines of Dinosaur or Spiderman with a story line similar to BttF. That way its not just another simulator (there are too many of those).

I really dont think the pavillion would work with Innoventions. Time and technology really have no common bond. If Living Seas is taken down, that land would be perfect for it with its proximity to the Land and Imagination because the Land and Time correspond and imagination is uninhibited by time.

Its a great idea.:sohappy: :sohappy:

Intersting concept for a Pavillion. I've got a few ideas I'd like to add if I may. Outside it would be cool to build some gigantic sundials into the sidewalk leading the to entrance, in the general pavillion area. This way kids could check out how the device works and have their picture taken and such. The gardens outside the building could be themed in an interesting way too, starting with rock and sand in the periphery of the building, with VERY short grass growing as you get closer. The nearer to the building you get, the taller the grass is, until it's eventually overtaken by young trees, and finally some very large, possibly artificial oak trees at the entrance. The concept here is that time seems to radiate from the attraction building. THis would look need and pose a unique challenge for the the greens keepers. There could also be a large fountain that flows out in two arcs on either side of the sidewalk that widens as it leaves the entrance. Thus, the water would slow down the further it gets.
Inside the building you could decorate with large screens showing time-elapse footage of various events, like tides at a beach, LA traffic, growing plants, etc. It also might be neat to have moving photographs of the various Disney parks that show how they've changed with new construction over the years. Of course, a very large children's museum kinetic clock is a must. As far as the actual attractions go, ever heard of the longitude race? Until the development of reliable, accurate, shockproof watches it was impossible to accurately determine the longitude of a vessel at sea. This made long-range non-coastal seafaring dangerous and random. Most of the European countries embarked on a quest to build a clock capable of telling time for months on a ship at sea, knowing that the first country to develop such a technology would have a distinct tactical advantage over their opponents. What ensued was a technological race not unlike the Space Race of the mid Twentieth-Century. This might be a fun premise for a man-o-war boat ride or an edutainment film/exhibit.

That WOULD be a good place to put CoP, and would save it from the chopping block at MK. Timekeeper too, but it would be hard to make it sit-down because of the screens all around. No one would be able to see the rear ones as easy.

How about the Timekeeper, after the sucess of his first trial, moves to EPCOT and a new "institute" (founded by him) for bigger things?

A lot of time "thingies" would be cool, like the videos and clocks, etc.

But you would still need some kind of "catch" to make it worth-while. Some ride (maybe not big) to get people to come.

If Living Seas is taken down, that land would be perfect for it with its proximity to the Land and Imagination because the Land and Time correspond and imagination is uninhibited by time.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

A new idea I had was the walls would move. Just the walls. At each hour. Suppose it is 6:00. First a big bell would ring six times. Then the walls would turn clockwise 6 time. I really like your ideas Bairstow, but I do not get the thing with the grass.

I would really love to get to experience "StormRider" at Epcot.:drevil: The whole weather thing really fits into the whole science them of Future World. Future World is getting a bit stale, and Epcot has become the least fun for me personally, except for Test Track and the anticipation for Mission:Space. I've gone to Disney World every year since I was three and it's great everytime, except Epcot. Maybe more thrill rides is the way they should go and "StormRider" would be a perfect fit.
StormRider

I linked the StormRide page at the Tokyo DisneySea Website above. It appears to be the best ride in the park. What do you think, I think it would be a great addition to the park. A great way to beef it up.

Well its been several months, but I was just sittin around todday when some ideas pooped in my head. So here is a revamped version of my idea.

Name: The Time Pavillion

Attractions: Frozen in Time, Return of the Timekeeper, and scattered throughout the pavillion "Time Machines".

Shops: Clogsworth Clock Shop

Dining: Time Freeze (Soda Fountain)

The pavillion it self will be circular with a big clock on the celing that worked. The walls will turnonce an hour. For example at 2 the bell would wring twice the nte walls, walls only, would turn twice. Also has the sun gets briter so will the pavllion. As it gets darker so will it. (Don't worry you will still be able to see)

Frozen in time is a Spiderman/Buzz Lightyear type ride. The plot is that their is a mad scientist, Dr. Stoppenclocks, who has frozen time at WDW and if you do not get time back soon everyone will also be frozen forever. So the preshow is a film from the NTC (National Time Company, I made it up) telling you about your mission. They will remind you to keep your saftey googles (3-D glasses) on at all times. You will then board your vehicle. All clocks and watches are frozen and whenever you see one you must zap it it will then get that area unfrozen of WDW. Your vehicle will have to fly on top of buildings though to reach some. Beware though some things look like clocks but have a picture of the Dr. on them. If you hit them your vehicle will spin or "fall". In the end you save the day. (what a suprise)

I have to go. I will post Return of the Timekeeper tommorow. (Don't worry it's not a circle vission attracion)

Return of the Timekeeper

I have not really thought of a story for this attraction, but I can give you a general idea. O yeah please help with the story.

What you are about to here might sound like a simulator ride, but it isn't. It's hard for me to put down how I envsion it to be.

You enter a theater and you sit down and lap bars come down across your lap. The timekeeper has ecscaped after 50 years of being locked up so he looks a little different. The theatre can spin, rise, drop, and go on its side to give you the effect. It will have the screens like a circle vision attraction but only a few screens wll be used at a time. It just depends on the way the seats in the theatre are facing. There will also be on big screen on the ceiling and floor which will be used every once in awhile throughout the film.

Imput would be greatly appreciated. (esspecially about comming up with a story for it. I have only seen the original Timekeeper once back in 1998, so I can't remember it to well)
