A Grand Floridian Princess Surprise

We are one month away from my daughters' first trip to Disney and Mom is super excited. We are keeping the trip a surprise and don't plan to tell them until the day we leave. I will try to provide a trip report on our experience since I have enjoyed reading others on this board.

Here is our current plan (though I am sure a 3 & 5 year old will have their own ideas):

Tuesday:
  • Surprise the girls on the way to the airport. Flight is at 2:00pm
  • Arrive in Orlando at 4:30 : Girls 2nd Surprise : Grandma is meeting us at the Orlando Airport
  • DME to Grand Floridian - Standard Room - Club Level Sugar Loaf Outer Building
  • 6:45 Reservation at 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella (thought it would be a great way to start the trip)
Wednesday:
  • Magic Kingdom
  • Dinner reservation at Crystal Palace
Thursday:
  • Animal Kingdom - no specific reservations that day in case we want to head back to the Grand Floridian Pool
Friday:
  • Back to Magic Kingdom
  • Bibbidi Bibbidi Boutique at 2:30pm
  • Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table at 4:30pm
Saturday:
  • DME to Oralndo airport - flight leaves at 11:00am
We are hoping that we can avoid crowds by not including the weekend in our park visits and we decided to stay at a monorail resort to make it as easy as possible with our young girls. I wanted to be able to easily go back to the resort for a swim or nap if needed.
We have a DDP with 1 QS meal, 1 TS meal and 1 Snack. We also have approx. $400 in Disney Reward Dollars from our Disney VISA. Between the Club Level Services, Dining Plan and Reward Dollars, I am hoping that we have prepaid for most of the expenses on the trip.

Oooh you are going to have so much fun! I am taking my kiddos (dd6 and ds4) for their first trip in May. Looking forward to dining at CRT as well. Sounds like you have some wonderful plans.

I don't have any ideas for something special for your mother but I'm sure her being able to be there with you and the girls will be special enough.

I was going to suggest getting her hair done with the girls at BBB but I forgot about the age limit. You could get a little crown for her to wear in her hair like the girls...maybe some sparkles too. :p What?....I'd do it.

The anticipation is starting to get the best of me. I find myself thinking about our Disney trip way too much!

I have to get my surprises set up this week. Day 1 is going to be full of surprises and I am still trying to think of how I will do everything.

Surprise 1 - We are going to Disney today
Surprise 2 - Grandma meets us in Orlando
Surprise 3 - Meeting Cinderella, the Prince, Stepmother and step sisters for Dinner
Surprise 4 - New princess Nightgowns

The only surprise that is I can't figure out is "We are going to Disney Today". I am trying to come up with a way to tell them that doesn't involve reading. We have thought about making them a video, doing the scavenger hunt...their are so many ways I have seen people tell their kids.

Anyone have any fun ideas?

Well, the events in Boston have been a distraction from my Disney excitement. Hard to even think about a vacation with everything going on. I have had the victims in my thoughts and prayers since Monday.

I have started to pull clothes and other items for the trip together, but it is harder than I thought it would be since we are trying to keep things a secret. I only have 3 more "after bedtime" windows of time to finish preparing. The ticking clock is starting to catch up on me.
