Well, folks, it is finally time for a return trip to WDW! The dates are set, the ADRs made, and the excitement is building. Our vacation is set for October 15 - 21 at POP Century.
As always, I am ready for another visit to WDW, but this trip has been especially anticipated because it will be my first vacation since my honeymoon a year and a half ago.
"But wait, doesn't your signature have a link for a trip report from December 2010?"
Yes, it does. However, that trip was only a weekend long, which seems much more like a fun blur than an actual vacation. Basically, I have not had the chance to go on a vacation because two days after I came home from my honeymoon I started an intensive 13 month Master's program. Now that is out of the way, and I am working at a public high school, which luckily has a Fall Break. So, it is off to the World we go! Now on to the list of characters.
Here are the three main stars of this report:
On your left is my mom. Something-something years old and you may know her on the boards as Disneybird. She is absolutely responsible for my early childhood love of all things Disney. She has been taking me every year since I was born, and I have never been to the parks without her. Next, we have my grandmother. She is 80 years young and an expert people-watcher while at Disney. Finally, you have me, Rachel, your host and guide throughout this trip.
Possibly joining us on this trip are my dad and my nephew. My dad may very well join us since he found out that I was going. If my nephew goes, he will definitely be joining us. My nephew is the wild card of the trip. He is four, but his parents are worried that he is too young to go off with my parents for a vacation. I should note that he went with them in April on a week long trip to Florida in an unsuccessful attempt to see the last shuttle launch. This trip included spending a day at the Magic Kingdom. My mom and I are hoping that since I am going my sister and brother-in-law will feel more comfortable letting my nephew go with us. Anyways, if he does go it will be a completely different type of trip than any I have ever taken, but it will still be fun. Sadly, my husband will not be joining us for this trip. He is on Fall Break for the last half of our trip, but he just doesn't want to go since we have a trip planned for his graduation in May. I just don't understand it, but I am working on forcing a love of WDW down his throat.
For graduation my parents gave me money to go and buy a Nikon D5100. I really like this camera, but it is the first dslr that I have ever owned. I am desperately trying to figure everything out with using it, but I still have a lot to learn. For my birthday earlier this month, my husband gave me a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens, and my parents gave me enough money that covered the cost of a 72'' tripod, camera bag, and 16gb SDHC card.
Now for the interesting part of the trip, our ADRs.
Sunday - 10/16 - lunch at 50's Primetime and dinner at Boma
Monday - 10/17 - dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe (a first for us)
Tuesday - 10/18 - lunch at Le Cellier
Wednesday - 10/19 - dinner at Captain's Grill (another first)
Thursday - 10/20 - dinner at Teppan Edo (another first)
I do plan on actually taking a lot of food pictures on this trip. Plus, we will be there during the Food & Wine Festival, which is absolutely one of my favorite things about Disney.
So, stay tuned as the plans unfold.
